Are WE letting Bush SOTU Lie-gate die by not staging huge rallies??
Why isn't the anti-war/A.N.S.W.E.R. crowd pressing right now for more huge marches?? The Iraq war is NOT over - it is merely in another phase - both Americans and Iraqis being killed daily! There are more revelations, more evidence than ever that BushCo lied about every justification for this illegal war. There are SMOKING GUNS left and right and yet we are allowing the Fourth Reich and their controlled press to settle in again - and begin to operate as if things are back to normal. Things are NOT normal!! The conduct of this administration is outrageous and TREASONESS!! We had them wounded and on their heals just weeks ago!!

Do we lack the same "killer instinct" - the ability to finish off one's opponent - that the Dems in Washington have proven to lack??

We need to call out all Americans who used "support our troops" mantra - and hold them to it! Our troops are being used and abused in ways that have seldom, if ever been surpassed in our military's history!

"Support our troops - bring 'em home!!"

"Bush Lied - People died!!"

"IMPEACH BUSH!! IMPEACH BUSH IMPEACH BUSH!!

"NO WAR FOR OIL!!!"

These declarations are not only still applicable - they are, in fact, MORE RELEVANT THAN EVER!!!

1. totally agree with you EP...
the moveon.org group should grab this and run with it also. I believe they have a petition to impeach going and a protest or two against aWol and his cabal would mesh nicely with that. I am ready anytime! :)

2. Yes. There should be rallies. // Clinton also helped kill the issue, by
proving once again that he is a conservative Republican in all but name, when he jumped in to defend Bushler on Larry King, 2 weeks ago.

10. It's pretty hard to make a case against war when several party
leaders; including Clinton, Lieberman and several others; say they don't have a problem with us going to war. In my opinion, to protest now only marginalizes the anti-war crowd even more. But, that's just my opinion. Maybe demonstrations are just what this country needs to wake up.

17. Let's ALL go for it!!
Don't you sometimes suspect that we need to supplement our DU internet involvement - with some real face to face interaction - or real physical action - (as in demostrating - not being physically violent) The massive demonstrations of the anti-war movement changed the whole dynamic - and made people like Howard Dean popular!! We must continue to apply the pressure! It is really up to US - not anyone else!!

9. You're usually ahead of your time, T! Perhaps by now some
Have caught up to you and realize you were right on the money!! We need ACTION - and now!! History will not be kind to us - the citizens of the U.S. in 2003, who knowingly allowed traitorous murderers to run their country without challenging them! We can't wait for campaigns and political debates, where the corporate press will be the ultimate determining factor - deciding that a debate was won or lost on things like excessive sighing!!! :puke:
Too much is at stake to allow our fate to be decided in that fashion again!!

This is crime we can never let be forgotten!! I mean, what's next? The nuke some city somewhere, and the press says, well, their judgement could have been better, but still 63% of the American people support the administrations decision to use nuclear weapons!! Can't you just hear them saying that?? This insanity HAS GOT TO BE STOPPED NOW!! Fuck them!!!

33. I'm not willing to concede that they are getting away with it...
Because people are going to keep dying in the ongoing disaster that is the Iraq War - but we certainly should be getting a helluva lot more mileage out of these smoking guns then were getting from our Kobe Bryant fawning press!!! This is nuts! Clinton would have been hung from his scrotum had he been accused of any one of these things!!

18. You can't protest this war
Iraq is in shambles in part as a result of our invasion. We can't just walk out now. The rest of the world would be justifiably more angry at us for that.

We need to get the UN in to set up a government, power, water, aid etc then we can get out.

Many Americans now support the war because they need to believe it was the right thing to do. Otherwise we murdered our own boys. You have to give them an answer for all the pain and suffering on both sides. Think of that, put it on a poster and I'm right behind you.

25. You can't exploit American troops like this!! They are being tortured
by the exposure to constant danger and incredible heat!! It has to be one of the shittiest assignments in history! They may as well be wearing bullseyes on their backs!! Our occupation is NEVER going to be accepted. If we pull out, the U.N. will no choice but to give humanitarian aid. This is an IRAQI issue - and it ALWAYS was!! BushCo's imperialistic plan was flawed beyond belief!! Quagmire, quagmire, quagmire!! Even the Halliburton employees will be killed one by one!! THIS IS NEVER GOING TO FUCKING WORK AND WE ALL KNOW IT!! BUSHCO DOESN'T CARE - AND SO THEY HAVE TO GO!!

19. you'd have better luck staging a Kobe rally
Big deal, it was only 16 little words and even Clinton said it was okay.

And so what if there were twenty other lies in the SOTU. It's only treason. It's only soldiers getting killed and that's what they're there for, isn't it? To buy time for Halliburton to get the Iraqi oil pumpling again?

Get over it. Check out Kobe kissing his wife's hand. Isn't he just the dreamiest?

24. Public protests often turn people off
How about letters to the editor of newspapers and magazines, letters/phone calls to Representatives and Senators, letters/e-mails/faxes/whatever to news services.

If you keep these people thinking that people are interested, then they will continue to keep interest in the story.

People who protest often turn people off to their cause who may not be interested in the subject.

30. A.N.S.W.E.R. is!
Nationally coordinated demonstrations will take place around the
world between September 25 and 28. In the Arab world, most
demonstrations will be on September 26 and September 28. In
Europe, the coordinated day of action will be on September 27 (see
www.stopwar.org.uk), and in other areas it will be on September 25.
A.N.S.W.E.R. chapters, in coordination with other organizations, will
be holding actions during that week.

In San Francisco, there will be a demonstration on Sunday, September
28, starting at Dolores Park at 12 noon and marching to Civic Center.
We are calling all West Coast organizers to mobilize to be in San
Francisco for this important demonstration to tell the Bush
administration in one voice that We Say No to Occupation and Empire
from Iraq to Palestine! Bring the Troops Home Now! Organize at your
school, work, or community group. Spread the word.

You can support the work of the IAC online at www.progressunity.org
