Can we keep Braun in the Race?
She was good tonight and she is a voice I would like to continue to hear. No matter what happens in the primaries, as democrats we are better off when all the voices are heard and she is the only female voice right now.

I wonder if some of us might donate a few bucks to keep her in the race?

3. Once again, Cheswick...
I'd swear we were seperated at birth. :D I'm thinking of sending her money. I'm also of swinging a few bucks Sharpton's way! :wow:

5. I am sending Sharpton money too
If nothing else than the pure pleasure of listening to him talk. I also volunteered at his web site to help register voters. We will see if he calls.

4. I took a look at her website a while back....
And liked what I saw!

Hi everyone.
I am new to this board. I am a registered republican(who also can not spell worth beans!) I also voted for Gore for president as a republican. I have never voted party, I vote for the person I think is the best for the job....and IMHO was Gore.
I am considering changing my registration from republican to Democrate. They seem to represent more and more of what I want to see happen....at least more so then republicains....I like some of the third party canidates also.

I consider myself a liberal-conservative-constitutionalist!
I am also the mother of 6 children, 5 living. So I may have a few brain cells missing.
:D
I think we would be better off if we returned to more of our constitutional roots, yet I beleave a nationalized health insurance would be a good idea.

So if you all dont mind talking with a crazy mom I would love to join your discussions from time to time.

Blessings
Jean

6. Hi Jean
Welcome to DU. You will read a lot of republican bashing here, but you should know that we do that to let off steam and most of us have republican friends and relatives we love. We have a few republican posters who are also appreciated for their imput. Whether you change parties or not, I hope you enjoy your time here at DU.

7. Welcome Elnora!
If there is anything we can do to help persuade you to change to Dem, just ask. I too have 5 children and healthcare and education are top issues for me.

12. I love Carol
She's so bright and intelligent. I keep hoping that she'll be part of the eventual cabinet (I don't think she'll receive the nomination). Possibly HHS, though I wouldn't mind her being the United Nations Ambassador.

13. Too many candidates, we need to narrow it down
Edited on Tue Aug-05-03 09:35 PM by sgr2
Seriously, nine people on a stage is WAY too much. We need to narrow it down to the candidates who have a legitimate chance of winning. If there had only been five people up there tonight we could have had a REAL chance to hear there views. Instead, we are limited to 1 minute soundbites.

EDIT: And this isn't an anti-woman thing, it has more to do with who can beat Bush. What is the point of having candidates up there who are never going to win our primary in the first place?

14. I think I like the single payer health plan...
You are born with it and you die with it, no matter
where you work or if you work for yourself. My
interpretation...have to do some more reading.

18. She reminded me a lot of my mother, and what
she would have been like if if she'd had a 'proper' education. I was surprised by how much, in fact. I didn't know much about Moseley Braun except for some kind of ethics scandal she was a part of, but was pleasantly surprised by what I saw tonight.

I wanted to donate to C-Span after tonight; it's going to give me a chance to keep up with the elections for the first time in many years.

23. Too. Much. Baggage.
She is completely unelectable.

She couldn't even win re-election to a second term as an Illinois Senator.

Illinois...? very Democratic state...told her in no uncertain terms to take a hike.

Nigeria.
Khozi(Cozy? Kozy? Qhozi?) Matthews.

Those two issues alone are enough to keep her off either spot on the ticket.
