Who said this?
These are all important next steps to take in the war against terrorism, but it is also true, as I have said before and I will say again today, that this war will not be over until Saddam Hussein is removed from power in Iraq.

Saddam is a sworn enemy of the United States and is still seeking revenge for his humiliating Gulf War defeat. Remember: a decade ago, he tried to assassinate President Bush's father. His regime has the means -- chemical and biological weapons that he hasn't hesitated to use in his own backyard, killing at least 25,000 Iranians and Kurds in at least ten different attacks. And by all accounts, Saddam has been actively working to develop nuclear weapons since the end of the Gulf War. Remember: he expelled U.N. inspectors more than three years ago.

Nope, it wasn't Dubya. It was our very own G.I. Joe Lieberman, in a speech on January 14, 2003. With that thing floating around, now you know why he still maintains Iraq was a 'just war,' and will hold that position if God himself were to come down from the heavens and tell Joe otherise. It isn't Bush's ass he's looking to protect; it's his own. In the same speech, he commends Bush for the 'excellent job' he did in leading the U.S. military in Afghanistan. How on earth does this guy think he's going to beat Bush? A child could run Bush's campaign and use Lieberman's own words against him to deflect any criticism. The guy should drop out now, and save everyone the trouble of beating him into the ground.

Entire speech.

1. If I hear right from the big guys on TV I think all wrong but......
I think Joe is to much in the middle as I thought Gore was I think the reason that almost half do not vote is because they are DEm and have a half Rep always running. Where were the people who wished to train our workers and to hold jobs in this country yet look at all those ABC groups that are striping jobs out of the USA and Gore, Joe were all for.Where are the social programs that every other modern country has and we the riches country in the world do not have. I think a Dem should run not a sort of half Dem.

3. Lieberman is not "in the middle"
Lieberman is center-right, and is sounding more and more like a full fledged Republican.

2. And Lieberman keeps putting his foot in his mouth
In Chicago last night, according to the NY Times, he was the only Dem. to basically not support labor's agenda (this was at an AFL-CIO forum for the candidates). He even suggested vouchers so that poor kids could go to private schools, which didn't go over well with teachers. As a former member of the NEA, I can tell you that it isn't the teachers who have caused the problems in schools-it is the deliberate attempt by government to keep teachers from being allowed to teach students in the most effective manner-which is the reason I left teaching.
