Why does Kerry keep losing his voice?
He was a little hoarse tonight, as he was in South Carolina.

1. Too many speeches, it's fairly common
Candidates always have that problem. Although I think it's an issue for him. He needs to get a better doctor.

6. But he can't be the only candidate giving speeches
The other candidates don't seem to have the same problem.

5. yes, kerry talks a lot
notice when he gives speeches or just talks in general he goes into many specifics and details and many points, and while doing that he will go into specifics and details of points in that. some have criticized him for it, but it's ok by me.

7. This is a little thing
but he has to come up with some explanation for it. He has had cancer treatment (presumedly this has nothing to do with it) but people are going to begin to wonder. There are lots of bad reasons for people to lose voice as well as trivial ones. As pointed out this is the second debate where it has happened to him. Again this is not meant as anti Kerry but as hoping all is well with him.

8. continued cancer treatment would certainly contribute to the problem
I am sure he is still taking drugs for the prostate treatments, and as blm points out allergies are a factor. A compromised immune sytem leads to all kinds of problems. Geez, Clinton was younger and didn't even have cancer and still turned hoarse on occasion.

9. Youre "sure"?
"I am sure he is still taking drugs for the prostate treatments"

What drugs are you sure he's still taking? The
only "treatment" he had was complete removal of the
prostate, with no radiation. I had the same
surgery he did & the only meds I took were a couple weeks
of pain pills & antibiotics.
