We suffer an embarassment of riches compared to Bush ...
Edited on Tue Aug-05-03 08:44 PM by Pepperbelly
Every single candidate stirred me on some level.

Every single one of them.

Come on, guys: let's drop the acrimony. There was not a person of that stage for whom I would hesitate to cast my life and my vote with. Listening to them, it is clear that we have so very much more to offer the nation than this strutting, preening popinjay who stole the last election.

3. After I watched the very first candidate forum, it was
like a spiritual rebirth. I had just moved from a very liberal town, and left all my left and otherwise alternative friends, and the right was joking about us having so many candidates. And then I sat through the forum, (it was the first one they did for the unions) and God, it was amazing. It was like, God, I can't believe we have this many good, intelligent, idealists willing to stand up against the pseudo-redneck royal family.

Embarassment of riches indeed! We have nine people with good grammar who speak eloquently and shrub can't even get through one sentence without slaughtering the language.

6. The Pubs had 10 in 2000
Need to remind them of that little detail.

And I agree, all the candidates are wonderful and they maybe need to bend over backwards slapping each other on the back. United we stand and all of that.

7. I often criticize Dems, but must admit this was a pretty good showing.
Much better than I expected. I hate Lieberman even worse now than I did before watching C-Span. But with that one exception, tonight's event was a pleasant surprise. There was considerable passion on that stage.

I was also heartened by the call-ins on C-Span AFTER the debate itself was over. Most of the callers showed openly that they despise Bush, & many said flat-out that they feel he is destroying the country.
