Everyone should contact Ebay about their anti-Democrats issue!
Edited on Tue Aug-05-03 08:26 PM by Democat
Ebay has apparently banned playing cards that make fun of Bush and Republicans:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=52454&mesg_id=52454

However, they continue to allow playing cards that make fun of Democrats, including Jimmy Carter:

Here is the ebay contact page:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/index_popup.html
Then click on "Contact Us"

I also suggest that the following media be advised of this situation:

Salon:
David Talbot dtalbot@salon.com
Scott Rosenberg scottr@salon.com

Wired:

Emailing any other media outlets you can think of would be a good idea as well. Ebay is a big company and they will not want to be seen as taking political sides. The important thing is to make sure people know that this is going on.

EBay turfs man’s anti-Bush regime cards
by Sarah L. Taggart

He might have lost EBay’s millions-strong membership, but if you still want to take a look at what caused all the furor, you’re in luck.

Dawson City artist John Steins has taken his “racist Canadian puke”, according to one not-so fan, and put it up at thebushadministration.com.

... “It’s prejudicial in my case,” Steins said in an interview today from his Dawson home. “Under copyright law, there is a provision for fair use; it allows for political parody.”

... He himself received eight abusive, threatening and harassing e-mails from the same Kansas man, who turned out to be an avid seller of high-powered weaponry on the very same site. Said man was the gentleman who called Steins a “racist Canadian puke”.

5. Worked for me.
It didn't tell me that someone already reported this (it gives you the option of sending the email anyway), so I must be the first. Don't let me be the last, DUers.

6. Actually, it didn't work for me. I don't know what I was thinking.
Here's what you do. Go to their homepage, www.ebay.com, and at the bottom is the help option. Click it. It is pretty plain what to do at that point.
