Will there be a replacement for VNS in 2004?
Before you tell that VNS had major data problems in 2000 and 2002, let me remind you that it gave some telling clues of voting problems in Georgia and other states. Without some system like VNS how will we be able to tell where the subtle hand of Rove is manipulating the votes?

I don't see how any replacemnt system could be ready by 2004 anyway since the old system was only offically abandoned in January.

1. I can't remember what it's called
but they're supposedly replacing it with a system based on actual returns rather than exit polling. (You see, after decades of reliable exit polling, all of a sudden the exit polls went haywire and stopped predicting the final vote counts)

3. Thanks for the link
The article has me worried though. The people involved are concerned that there is not enough time to get a properly working system in place.

4. well
The last group, VNS, was using software services by a defense contractor that does a lot of work for the CIA and specializes in biochemical stuff, such as manufacturing the Ames strain of anthrax.

Battelle Memorial Institute of Ohio.

Does anybody else find that extremely weird?

The new group, until proven different, I have no reason to trust. Do some research on the guy.

VNS was a very secretive organization. Reporters who tried to find out anything about them were pretty much stonewalled.

I believe VNS was part of a top-to-bottom mess in our voting processes. I would love to think the new group will be different. BUT, what would make it different? There has been no citizen outcry demanding clean, transparent, accurate elections AND ELECTION RESULTS!
