The California recall needs to be a referendum about BUSH
The only way to get Dems to go vote in DROVES is for the recall to be framed as a referendum on Bush. Anti- Bush sentiment is about the only thing that will inspire voters to the polls.

Letters to the editor run 5 to 1 against Bush in the LA Times which is the most widely circulated paper in So Cal.

The California Democratic party is FINE having a replacement candidate on the ballot but Davis's message needs to be that he has forcefully pursued the energy policies and the FERC and that the lawsuits to get the state compensated for the energy companies fraud which was not sufficiently punished by FERC rulings nor were we sufficiently reimbursed.

He needs to make it clear that this is another Florida and an attempt to steal an election.

He may need to do a mea culpa and own up to his own failures, but he needs to scare the daylights out of California voters and get them off their rears.

That is the only way to keep Dems loyal, get them off their sofas and get them to the polls.

Dems outnumber Republicans in the state by 1.4 million but if the amount of people going to the polls for the recall is as low as the mid terms were it will NOT be a good thing.

2. And the IT industry
How much was the collapse of the IT industry due to the jobs going to India? Was that Davis' policies? Bush signed the executive order lifting sanctions against India in order for this to take place. He should have foreseen the damage it would cause and done something so that the shift would have happened slower and ensured IT workers were protected. This is one thing that happened back in the 70's with the first overseas job export, there were federal programs to protect those workers. Why didn't Bush do anything when he knew exactly what would happen?

California's problems ought to be laid right in the lap of George W. Bush.

7. If the Davis camp can effectively make this about Washington interference
in order to help their energy cronies and drill offshore, I think it will make a HUGE difference. The business community in California has recently come out against the recall. Convincing people it will lead to MORE economic uncertainty and possibly offshore oil contracts as well as convincing them ANYBODY COULD END UP GOVERNOR is a very good tactic.

9. Press question for Arnold...
Will you drop all legal pursuit of the Bush White House's connection to the energy gouging of Californians by their friends?

15. Exactly, I've posted the same opinion several times around the boards....
You have to keep the Davis/Schwartz personalities out of it as much as possible.

I suggest a simple flow chart so the sheeple can get the link between Pete Wilson's deregulation/Enron/manipulating the energy supply and creating rolling blackouts(buy when high, power down when price low) Davis' going to the Feds only to be rejected by the Bush Admin....

People have to see how they are being manipulated and how Bush et al screwed California and Dems and others should ask Arnold how he feels about the screw job.....

18. Repugs are just highlighting AWOL's failures
with the California recall...

- deficits
- job-LOSS
- energy
- AHH-nold is highlighting the special interests charges
- Schools/education

just about everything the repugs are charging Davis with is the same thing AWOL is screwing up

My partner commented on AHH-nold's candidacy - "Great, if Arnold gets in then we'll have TWO republican leaders that have problems with the english language.... although it's easier to understand what Arnold is saying"

20. Actually it's another Texas . Rove is systematically going after
the Dem strongholds...Tx., CA. and Florida.

I agree 100%...the Dems need to press the message that this crisis in CA was/is the results of Enron and the White House. This is not a Davis issue per se. And they better get some good strategy figured out fast...or it's bye-bye CA.

And don't forget to throw out the e-voting machines!

And you were worried your state would slide into the ocean? Well this just might be worse.
