We want the truth about Iraq
A few days ago I got a letter from my mother, saying my oldest son had joined the Army is stationed in Ft. Sill, OK. It's a family tradition - I served there in 78-80, my brother served and retired there (he married a local gal). That said, since we did not get the full story about Iraq going into the invasion, I now have a personal stake in all this, my eldest born son.

I want a complete casualty report - How many died in Iraq? Feel free to divide between combat and non-combat deaths, but I want the total number. How many injuries/wounded have we had?
Feel free to separate that into combat and non, hospitalized or minor injuries, but I want the total number. The injuries lead to another question, what is happening to soldiers if they are wounded and sent back here to the states? I think I read here on DU a week or so ago, they had so many at Walter Reed they were housing them in local hotels.

I now have a personal stake in all this, and gosh darn it, even if I didn't the American people deserve this information!

Avery concerned DU mom.

1. I hope that things go well.
I don't know about any lists of the wounded, but here is a very accurate list of those who have died. They are posted following notification.

2. You can't handle the truth...
Can't you just imagine Donald Rumsfeld saying that? I apologize if I appear sarcastic but I don't see the defense department ever being honest about what is going on.

I too wish we could get the skinny on what is going on in Iraq. There are conflicting reports about casualties and conditions over there. My nephew is currently there as a combat engineer. If I hear anything from him I will let you all know. I do know that the mail getting to the troops is very slow.

On another note, I was stationed at Fort Sill for Field Artillery Officers Basic Course back in 1987-1988.
