There are moments in history that stand out and make us think about what we're doing. For this country, the United States of America.
The land of the free.
The home of the brave.
For centuries immigrants of all colors have come here. Some were forced, and then freed. But in the end, there is that unique vibrancy to America. It's what you make of it. In the end, no matter how much bad there is, in America, the good outshines the bad.
The little things. Taking a ride down to the corner to buy some soda and chat with the gas station owner. Hopping in your car to drive 1500 miles to somewhere warmer, somewhere colder, somewhere busier. Or slower. You're free to come! Or go. It's all up to you.
But everyone hates us now George. Everyone. Your little oil-freedom experiment has officially failed. Blood will spill. Treasure will be lost. Did I hear we're letting Saddam's old Generals "put-down" the insurgents in Fallujah? Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
But in the end it's one picture.
Our reputation is tarnished.
For a long, long, long time.
