Bush responsibility in torture of Iraquis
I don't think he knew about the torture of Iraquis recently publicized on "60 Minutes II" well before we did.

However, he knows or should know that it is routine for American soldiers to put hoods over the heads of anyone they arrest in Iraq.

That humiliation and dehumanization during the arrest not surpisingly leads to worse when someone is in custody.

He also knows or should know that there is no due process for people arrested in Iraq. The families of those arrested often can't visit them and the prisoner often can't see a lawyer. This was addressed months ago on "60 Minutes (I)."

By failing to address the humiliating arrest tactic of putting hoods over arrestees' heads and denying them due process afterwards, he led the way for the torture which he didn't directly sanction.

1. The buck for this one stops with the president...
...Bush has to own this. He was over there serving turkey and doing a photo-op when he should have been inspecting troops, the situation and yes, even the detention centers. How else is the president to know what is really going on? Unless he just doesn't give a shit!:wtf:

2. A brigadier general is involved.
Yet the Army is trying to cover up, "they never were trained about the Geneva conventions."

And then there's Gitmo.

Hell yes Bush is responsible, and morally so are the people who support Bush.

3. This is really scary taken in the context of Patriot Act II
Where it is ALREADY legal to ARREST, TRY, CONVICT and IMPRISON some one in secret

Just think of the atrocities that could occur when it is illegal to talk about it

6. Bush is responsible
for all of this! After all, he is the "Commander in Chief" isn't he? He hides behind the cloaks of Rummy, Powell, Rice, etc. But the bottom line is - it is Bush's responsibility.
