CSPAN sucks--a half hour on the torture photos?

CSPAN read stories and took calls for half an hour on the photos. Then they promptly (7:30AM est)) went to car hood safety!? Oh, and btw, they made sure to take a call early in the alloted time from a guy who thinks all military people are sadists and murderers. Fair and balanced, once again.

Right now this regime is doing its best circular firing squad routine...it's tough, but just keep handing them rope. Remember, we're still 5 months from election day and 4 months until a large number of voting Americans really start paying attention to things.

Also, the pictures will be part of a feature story on 60 Minutes tomorrow. Remember how Clarke became major news on that Monday (despite being the buzz here for days ahead of time). The pictures still haven't hit many American living rooms, it will after the broadcast. Then let's see how C-Span plays it.

Guaranteed someone at AEI is being lined up right now to do spin control. They seem to live on that network.

when they usually spend at least an hour on stupid questions like "Does Senator Kerry Flip Flop?" My guess is like you said, they haven't gotten the talking points laid down from the AEI.

Yesterday Hate Radio was filled with angst-filled hosts and callers who couldn't seperate their Kool-Aid drinkin' Bunnypants worshiping and the the obvious respect ABC was playing to those who made the ultimate sacrafice for the country. My bets are the chatter is still going full bore.

Also, C-SPAN is political junkie TV...the channel I always threaten to turn on to clear out my office. Those tuned in already have gotten a large doseage of the story.

And yes, Kerry bashing is the new Brian Lamb hobby...and it really appears several of the hosts don't hide their partisanship. The other morning, Rob (I think his name is), had a conservative black Repugnican...trying to be both J.C. Watts & Alan Keyes. It was dreadful...this man was both shallow and uniformed, and Rob was doing all he could to help him. It sure looked like he was doing a pal a favor by putting him on national TV.

Where do I apply? LOL

I'm not watching CSPAN much these days anymore. The slant is so blatant...it's so uplifting when a caller puts them on the carpet for it though (and then watch the host get pissed about it). That's when it's the most entertaining.

The other morning they had someone on (from AEI, I think) touting himself as an expert because he spent 18 months teaching in the Kurdish region of Iraq. He kept going on how peaceful things were and what we're doing is right (yea..."right" as in extreme ideology). The guest started interjecting about the safety of Israel and a caller asked if he is Jewish...it took 2 more callers before he answered. The host asked what that had to do with anything, and the caller tried to explain the tie with ideology before being cut off. When the guest finally answered, it was in a snotty pissed off defensive manner.

If I'm not mistaken one of the callers was the regular "in-house" anti-semite. This guy (and his half-sister) calls in at least once a week and doesn't asks guests with last names like Rubin if they're Jewish. This week he questioned how come 10 Senators happen to be Jewish. Here's the place you see these warts.

I am amused by the wingnut callers on this show...most are so way out of touch with reality and facts it is almost like a personal daily affirmation.

And, yes, I have a TV in the office (which fortunately is also in my home)...CNN, MessyNBC and CSPAN squawk all day here...just like having the radio on, just I can look up and laugh at the faces every now and then.

Even though I didn't always like the topics, I could most always make sense of it in the "fair and balanced" aspect. But this? It's ridiculous!
