Earlier on Friday I confess I was inclined to agree with this though.

Sorry JK!!!

This is quite a kicking speech...

2. Diplomats Vs. Demogogues...
I watched Kerry speak and got the Clintonesque thought "isn't it nice to hear a politician who could articulate an idea and know what he's talking about". I saw Richard Holbrooke (he reamed Wolfie GOOOD) earlier who gave a preview of the speech (obviously he was heavily consulted in its writing), and I thought of all the great Democratic diplomats who we can call upon to start straightening up this mess...Holbrooke, Dennis Ross, Jamie Rubin and Madeline Albright. Statesmanship...pure and simple.

Compare that to the images of American "leadership" being seen around the world now. In 2 year, America's image has been totally descimated around the globe and this regime relishes in its xenopobia. The differences couldn't be starker.

A sidenote: my daughter's boyfriend...he's 19 and from a Repugnican family (we've since fixed that problem...<chuckle>)...came up to me and asked if I had seen the speech. It appears it was on in the student lounge of his local college (usually that set is reserved for All My Children) and a large crowd was sitting and watch. Some were applauding. The winds of change are starting to blow.

3. I can see the debate now
John Kerry, at the podium alone, with his intellect, and his vocabulary.

Bush/Cheney, in an elephant costume, with Cheney in the hind end, whispering answers to Bush.

4. The major general MSNBC analyst guy (Pollard? Pollack?) said...
(yesterday after the speech) what everyone has been trying to avoid saying:

The situation in Iraq and all of the plans laid out can only work if Kerry is elected. The world won't help Bush. Period.

That mousy little Chris Jansing almost choked to death after the analyst stated the obvious.

9. i agree with that, bush has no credibility with other leaders
he made too many enemies to ever be effective with anything in the future.

6. I can't wait until the debates
JFK will eat GWB alive.

Alright America, Canada is counting on you to make the right choice. Semms pretty easy and straightforward to us.

I'm pretty sure at least 85% of Canadians would support Kerry over the chimp. I wish we could help you.
