A suggestion:

I've changed my avatar to the hooded man with electrodes. Maybe if many of us here on DU take this and make it our icon -- an image of this war -- those who listen to the voices on this site will get the idea. Maybe we can convince the media and our candidates to use this image to wake up the sleeping conscience of this nation.

I'm ashamed of what America's leaders are doing in my name here and over there. I want it stopped. I want my America back.

I've changed it back. Just having a hard time sitting here able to do nothing while this is goes on.

it is totally distateful, and i hope the mods don't allow it...

would it be okay for one of us to use the piles of dead in the Holocaust pictures as an avatar? or a photo of a lynched man?
