Photos put Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz at Abu Ghraib. Does ANYONE...
think that either of these two didn't know what was going on there and personally approve, if not order, the torture?

29. I'm sure she is "scary" to Wolfie and Rummy - she's talking...
Edited on Sun May-02-04 09:03 AM by Junkdrawer
General Karpinski said she was speaking out because she believed that military commanders were trying to shift the blame exclusively to her and other reservists and away from intelligence officers still at work in Iraq.

"We're disposable," she said of the military's attitude toward reservists. "Why would they want the active-duty people to take the blame? They want to put this on the M.P.'s and hope that this thing goes away. Well, it's not going to go away."

3. Whew!
That woman general sure looks creepy.

I am sure they had some kind of idea what was going on. If it is proven that they knew and did nothing or even ordered the tortures that would be big.

11.  Pointy Girl

that is the perfect name for that piece of trash.

It probably met her and told her what a great job she did for the good old USA.

Was it Pointy Girl that has the uncle that was talking to the press about the Mercenaries etc.
If so, maybe someone has pictures of Rummy and the Poster Girl for Bad Behavior. That would be something to see!

6. Wolfowitz HAD to KNOW
This article (Reuters) is from July 21. Wolfowitz was there at the prison July 20. If Amnesty International appealed to him about the prison, he MUST have known, he had to.

http://www.arena.org.nz/iraqivc6.htm

US accused of 'very severe' HR abuses in Iraq:

AI condemns denial of access to prisoners

BAGHDAD, July 20: Amnesty International accused US troops on Sunday of "very severe" human rights abuses in Iraq and complained that it had been denied access to thousands of prisoners held without charge in "appalling" conditions.

<snip> The US military authorities have repeatedly turned down Amnesty's requests for access to those jails, Licea said.
Some Iraqis are being held by the Americans at the Abu Ghraib complex near Baghdad, one of the most feared prisons under Saddam. Today it is heavily guarded by US troops.

US Deputy Defence Secretary Paul Wolfowitz visited Abu Ghraib prison on Sunday as part of a five-day tour of Iraq. <snip>

7. They knew
Of course they knew.

That is why they hired private corporations to do their interrogations. That is why they are so secretive about what is going on at Guantanamo Bay. That is why we have had all the right wing nuts on the talk shows telling us torture is OK. That is why they are bringing in Negroponte - he has a history of covering up human rights violations.

They knew.

happenings at Guantanamo? Do we know anything about this?

This story has serious, serious legs. In many different directions too.

20. Odd that on their rare visits to Iraq
both these shmucks would make a beeline for the same prison?

Also seems odd that Rummie and Wolfie would be escorted by the same man and woman? I wonder who they are? Anyone have a clue who the elderly man with the white hair is? He doesn't wear a uniform and he seems to be in charge?

she is the army general who was in charge of the prison.

I'm still trying to find out who the elderly man is?

Edited on Sun May-02-04 04:52 AM by DoYouEverWonder
is running with a story from yesterday on the Sydney Morning Herald's web site.

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/04/30/1083224589166.html

This is part of the caption with the pic:

Brigadier-General Janis Karpinski, who was responsible for military jails in Iraq, briefs the US Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, in September last year.

32. September? * supposedly found out in NOV, no way this shit wasn't
already happening when Rumsferatu was there. No way. They knew. Probably ordered the shit. Like I said umteen times yesterday, these weren't just random acts - they were well-thought out offensive specific to Islam - homosexuality, nudity, dogs, thumbs-up signal (equals flippin someone off in Iraq), etc. The truth will come out. One of the soldiers will eventually talk.
