3. When explaining to young people why HATE
is not quite the correct response. They hear it, that we are bush haters. Personally I do not hate Bush, hard to hate somebody who has really no clue of what he is doing, and truly depends on Chenney

Sadly, history will judge him harshly, but I doubt the word hate will be used... dislike yes, divisive, you betcha, but I doubt hate will enter into the discourse.

He will enter history as the most disliked US President in history, yes even with the fundi\ RW base of around 30% for whom he could kill somebody on live Teevee and it would be defended. In fact, when talking to young people I refer to the man as President, and make the distinction between Bush the man and the office of the Presidency... and explain to them that it is not only their right, but their duty, to critize those in power who abuse that power.

4. The only time I do that is when I write a LTTE.
You have to be halfway polite about what you call him for print purposes, or they will not publish it.

5. Yes...
In LTTEs it is fairly mandatory. That's unfortunate.

10. Not in the same sentence
Usually its just "Bush". I try to avoid saying "The President" and especially "President Bush", as he is extremely embarassing for this country and just thinking about him being in such power give me the creeps.

11. President Bush
That's generally how I refer to him when I'm writing for publication or speaking formally in "mixed" groups. In private, no, I don't use any honorific.

12. Absolutely NOT!
I refer to him as Mr. Bush or just Bush.

If he wants to be reffered to as "President" he should start acting like one!

14. Let me add a couple of more NEVER'S
From day one I have NEVER put those two words together. I reserve that word for the rightful owner. My husband calls him "The Governor" to which he was elected. On DU I always refer to the idiot as *.

18. Never
Since October 2001, I have written several articles that have appeared on DU's front page and never once qualified the name Bush with the stolen title. That is a conscious decision.

Were he in front of me and were I addressing him, I would make it a point to call him "Mr. Bush." If he objects, as he objected to a reporter calling him "sir" a couple of weeks ago, then I'll call him something less formal.

I usually call him "dumbass" or "Smirk".

As for hating, I have gone to a cleric to deal with this. He is the first person I have ever hated in my life, and it's a VERY uncomfortable feeling for me.

24. I call the POS that because I don't want to act like a Freeper
Remember when Clinton won by a "mere plurality" ( at least he f____ing won!), upstanding Republicans like, oh I don't know, Trent Lott, refused to call Clinton his president b/c he didn't win a majority of the national vote. So, I call Bush the president (especially around my 3 young kids) to demonstrate that I will not stoop to Trent Lott lows. I hate him, and I force myself to exercise restraint.

25. To the contrary, I always refer to * or the President as being a POS. I
would not want anyone to be unsure of my position. When referenced in this manner, it carries much more potency.

Damn, I feel eloquent today!
