Anybody been listening to AAR today?
It seems like there's a lot of more advertising than there was last week. I've heard all kinds of different stuff today. There's been a lot of doom sayers about AAR recently. I don't know whether they are trolls who are trying to plant seeds or what but for god's sake they've only been on the air for a month!! Hopefully they'll be getting more good ratings and more stations and will be a great big success. Anyway, it sounds to me as if they've added lots of new sponsors which is a great step in the right direction.

2. Honestly, not lately

I heard Al Franken a couple times but it was kinda boring. And Randi Rhodes just annoys me.

I didn't like these shows enough to start to listen regularly.

Ed Schultz is good though.

But still by far the best liberal radio is KGO out of San Francisco on the web at night.

8. I still love Randi, but
I think Franken is getting better and better every day.

His guests are top drawer, and his regular features are good schtick, while educating us.

I said to Dearest Husband the other day that if Franken can manage to stay on the air long enough, I think he may turn out to be the most powerful person on the air.

This was after seeing how the mainstream columnists are panning him.

I think he has effectively challenged their exclusive hold on the meme and the conventional wisdom of the day by disecting their talking points one by one.
So, they are trying to undermine him now while they can.

I find his show very entertaining, too.

Any time I hear someone say Air American isn't such good radio, I want to scream, "Compared to what!?!?!"

3. Yes, I noticed it too
and just in time! I was getting so tired of those few commercials that they played over and over and over. This is a very good sign.

4. I like Randi Rhodes
Al Franken having his daughter as a guest was weak. If he wanted to talk about ADD he should have had a psychologist or psychiatrist on.

5. Agreed. She was not a great speaker, and she merely contributed
anecdotal evidence

6. He's got to fill the air time

...with something more engaging and persuasive. It was amateurish. Howard Dean was great though.

I think doctors, lawyers, politicians, economists and authors speaking to specific issues on which they are very knowlegdeable could be very engaging guests. The segue need not involve tarring some one like lush rimhole. He had a good idea for a segment but it fell flat. It was so uninteresting I turned it off. Who knows what I missed afterwards.

10. Hadn't heard it!
However, they are on my S*** list for something dastardly.

Can't remember what right now, but it made an impression on me at the time.

I wonder who Costco gets their gas from? It's definitely the cheapest price around here.

12. I think it's something more recent, like
being in on a pipeline deal in the Middle East with the bad guys.

Can anybody help me remember what it was?

Thanks.
