1. He lost it right around the time when...
Tom Donahue (the PRESIDENT and CEO of the frigging Chamber of Commerce) said that outsourcing jobs to India is the same thing as companies moving from state to state within the U.S. because it's cheaper.

He also said that the reason we MUST outsource is that we don't have the people here in the U.S. with the skills needed.

When Dobbs hit him with the Carly Fiorina "No one has a God-give right to a job anymore" quote he said "I didn't come here to discuss threology."

I was pissed, I can only IMAGINE what was going on inside Lou.

But, the man DOES rock. SERIOUSLY.

13. "No one has a god given right to a job"?
I do believe those kind of statements negate the social contract, do you repubs really want that??? I'm not trying to sound like a badass or anyting, but if corporate profit over rules our right to make a living, why I do believe alot of bad things will happen.

15. Funny, isn't it? The commies promised health care, food and shelter and
work. Democracies can't. What a buncha cretins. How about outsourcing the head of the chamber's job?

23. Amen, SSJ! Negate the social contract indeed!
History teaches, over and over, that BAD THINGS HAPPEN when the working poor are exploited.

EAT THE RICH!!!

2. I've watched that show for awhile, but other than ask the same questions,
why doesn't he offer solutions? The show is becoming quite formularic....bring on the Tom Donahues and kick their ass. But I'd like to see Dobbs offer up some real solutions to the problem.

4. The solution is
to vote Democratic. If Dobbs said so, they'd yank him off the air.

5. Solutions?
Isn't is the freaking Govt's job to offer solutions?

The present Regime is doing everything it can to destroy the Middle Class and make them the Working Poor.

17. He's an admitted lifelong Republican; he's not gonna do that
The guy's got a bit of a heart, but he still has the smug superiority of the conservative, and he covers for the true ugliness of the elite.

That really pisses me the fuck off when these assholes start spouting that shit!

They have the audacity to make the statement "no American has the god given right to a job",but then turn around and treat the corporate owner class like they have every right to benefit from virtual slave labor by getting as filthy fat as they want. Never mind the abject misery that they put their workforce through.

Fuck these dickheads. It is time to stand up and put them all in their place!

7. I have a solution
Edited on Mon May-03-04 06:31 PM by Catt03
I propose that The government provide universal health care through an individual tax increase equal to the Bush tax cut. Therafter each year the individual tax remains the same to fund health insurance.

Each coporation will get a tax credit ajusted to the number employees covered by universal insurance (the more employed, the larger the tax increase).

(The countries that are receiving the outsoucing are countries that already provide for health care. This saves millions of dollars companies pay for health care, which they are saving by outsourcing).

I also propose that coprorations that gross over 25 million, pay a percentage to fund drug research. They will also receive a tax credit for the funding or can receive dividends from the success of the drug.

8. no right to a job
That's the Repub mantra. But, can you imagine if Bush went on TV and said "no American has the god-given right to a job". That would be great, especially because Bush is so close personally with Christ.

14. The only solutions I can think of
Vote for Dems that care about jobs for US citizens.
Start tightening your belts and quit spending money for non-essentials.
Buy US made.
Think about unionizing.
March for equity and job security.
Conserve.
Get really serious, simple things like this can make a difference.

18. Lou was HOT............ someone should ask what jobs "outsourcing" has
brought "to" this country. The talking heads mention that every time..but..I cannot figure out just what jobs would be created by outsourcing "in this country."

19. Yes! The Comander in Chief SHOULD appologize to the Iraqi
people for the behavior of HIS troops. Shrub may be able to use the "not my fault" excuse for a lot of other things, but he's real quick to claim to be the Comander in Chief. Well, guess what Mr. President...YOU are ultimately responsible for the actions of YOUR troops!

I'm not sure any appology is going to do anything now, I think it's too late. But for the face of America.............you need to do it!
