Pat Tillman Defenders at DU , are Just Glory Seekers

First off, you all need to go to the bathroom and relieve yourself.

2nd, I agree that people who attack Tillman are OFF BASE because Tillman DID something GOOD. HE wasn't an idiot for serving his country.

ALOT of people get the IDEA that he just UP AND DECIDED to JOIN THE ARMY TO KILL ARABS. You people need to forget the WHORE MEDIA. You actually are litening to the MEDIA?!?!?!?
THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE??

Anyways, Tillman's brother Joined the Army before Tillman did.....and that MORE than anything probably factored into his decision to join. They didn't cover his brother joining, because his brother wasn't important enough, just like the other thousands of soliders over there now and the others that have died. But you see, Tillman is a NEWS STORY. LOOK SUPERMAN went over to Iraq, they can relate to the masses about a Millionare Football player who decided to give that up and SERVE his country. It's a wide EYE story for the drone sheep, and purely political in nature and absolutely CHEAP on the MEDIA's part. THEN They had the NERVE to attack CBS for Showing the other soldiers. YOU KNOW WHAT?!?! Both sides make me sick, when it comes to bashing people over there busting there asses to do what thier job is.

Tillman went over there because he wasn't about to let his brother go
over there alone without him........that makes him a hero. Tillman would be sick to his stomach to see what the media has done to him, if anything Tillman probably should have told his brother to watch out for this media crap, but they probably wasn't even thinking about the unthinkable.....

For the people who bash and prop up Tillman......well ......I won't say that I really think about you....because it will just get it
deleted. That is all.

I wish the rest of the soliders will make it back ok.

IS this "a pox on both your houses" kind of thread? You think that those who are mad about the Rall cartoon and other post mortem attacks on Tillman are glory seekers?

But most of your post is dedicated to criticizing those that have slammed into him.

I remember everyone being so shocked on 9/11 - personally, after calmly noting that this probably had something to do with our support for Israel, I went for a good workout at the Gym.

I really don't think that can be stressed enough. I have been reading soooo many posts (this is my first one on DU btw, though I'm a long time lurker) that all presume to understand what was going on in Tillman's head one way or another. I'm not attacking anyone in particular, but basically, discussion of Tillman's mindset as right or wrong is simply a waste of time, because no one can ever presume to know what his mindset was, given that as far as I can tell, he made virtually no statement whatsoever other than a desire to serve in the Rangers. I have been quite disheartened by the sheer lack of proportion or attention that Tillman's story has received relative to the hundreds of other dead soldiers, but let's please all remember that Tillman went out of his way to NOT be a story. Clearly it wasn't up to him, then or now, but I would say that an intelligent community like this one can honor his wishes and leave him to rest in peace. Anyways, thats just my 2 cents.

On a completely separate note, I am glad to finally make my voice heard in the DU community, and I really do think this is one of the top sites on the web, largely because of the lively boards. I look forward to (hopefully) becoming a well-known member of the community. :-)
