4. dont forget alan derschowitz
who just now made a reasonable argument supporting the use of torture, something he did 2 years ago also. using the israeli model i believe he suggested

9. Alan derschowitz wanted to use warrants for torture
Prof. Dershowitz came out for this just after Sept. 11 and advocated the use of torture if it could be shown that the information in questions was necessary to save someone's life. The example is that if you stop a terrorist attack by torturing a captured terrorist, then the ends justify the means. That logic would not apply to a historical crime such Sept. 11.

5. maybe a little gentle sleep deprivation
or some nurturing loud noise and bright lights. the softer 'psychological' torture for me.

i hear that one a lot too. but it always comes up: 'would you torture if it saved thousands of lives?' jeez
