I was going through a box of old photos over the weekend and found one of me and the biggest lemon of a car I ever bought. I remember my Mother, who has a "sixth sense" about things trying to warn me about the car. My wife didn't want me to buy it and Dad, after driving it pointed out some things that just weren't right about it.
Did I listen? Hell no,I just HAD to have that car,and the salesman was talking it up and making it too easy to take it home. Big mistake!
Fast forward 6-8 months. I was driving it to work, wrenching on it during my lunch hour, sneaking it in and out of the shop by borrowing a friend's truck and moving things that really didn't need to be moved in and out of storage etc. Anything but admit I had bought a lemon. I was upside-down on the payments and didn't know what to do with this junker. I was young and arrogant and I didn't like to admit mistakes back then.
I'm telling this story because I am wondering how many *Chimp voters/supporters are out there coming to the realization that they "bought a lemon" when they cast their votes in 2000. He was everything they wanted while he was "sitting on the lot", but now that they have been driving him for 3 1/2 years, they realize he has not performed anywhere near expectation. They spend all their time trying to keep him patched up and running. Damn, is a president really supposed to be this high maintenence?
The only thing I am wondering is, will *$hrub "throw a rod" before the election or after? Hopefully beforehand.
For the lurking *bush supporters reading this, just remember, it's ok to admit you bought a lemon and trade it in, it can happen to any of us. Hell, you don't even have to admit this one, it's a secret ballot, right?
