There is a hole where the soul should be......

I posted this awhile back here at DU. I knew something perverted, sick, psychopathic was behind these brightfaced boys and girls returning from Iraq and expressing no remorse. I know there are some that are expressing remorse and regret and that gives me hope. But it is those who adapt so quickly when they return that really make me worry. After seeing the horror of these prisoners abused I guess I now know "what they did with there anger and pain".

There is a hole in where the soul
should be in some Americans. There is a void where a brain should be. There is a violent, furious mien, covered up with suits and clean shaven faces.

I saw Nightline last night or maybe the night before. There was this gung ho investment banker from New York from a Marine group that went into Iraq in the first wave. He described how he got psyced up about what he was doing: "I just kept the image of the WTC blowing up in my thoughts"........

He is then depicted coming back from Iraq and going back to the same office to work. Everything just as it was except he is a "little sharper" and his leadership skills have improved. .......


I almost puked. The non-existent link between Iraq and 9/11 has been successfully passed off as conventional wisdom. These gung ho fools don't know anything about reality except images from a cathode ray tube falsely associated with the enemy in their sights. Is it that simple? Is that all the fascists have to do is show some images of violence and point in the direction of a country ripe for exploitation and tell these Homo Americanus's--a different specie-- to attack.

This country is going to pay for this, and dearly. We are going to bleed and bleed and bleed as our young people get sent off to slaughter. The despicable manipulation of public opinion with this kind of propoganda is deadly. We may not survive this; it could just be one stupid ass campaign after another until we collectively collapse from exhaustion. Like proverbial laboratory rats on a treadmill who know nothing about the larger reality.

I am losing my interest in this specie after seeing this. People like this person who must be deliberately turning a blind eye to the truth are truly a new phenomenon. They are totally mallible violent automatons for the corporate war machine, little differant than the Terminator, except that this investment banker is working daily with complex business operations. He must have access to a computer in his off hours. He must have seen some of the controversy about Iraq, yet he locks onto these images and does his job.

This is a very, very, sick boy here. This person is a psychopath in disguise and the people who were with him are too. I can no longer accept ignorance or innocence when I see people who are doing these kind of jobs requiring thinking skills acting the way they do.

IMO we have a much bigger problem than simply kids being sent off to an immoral war, we have a very sick crop of young people who are going to be leading this country in one form or another. They will be among us with all of this rage and they will, for one reason or another, never deal with it.

WHAT WILL THEY DO WITH IT?


We are going to pay and pay dearly for this.

...and if they really prove their loyalty, they could become made members of the elite SS. This is not going to disappear quickly I'm afraid. It is systemic and very much a part of the fabric of the ruling powers throughout this country.

People with excessively repressed feelings, especially sexual ones, go into a denial state and then act it out given the right circumstances. There is also the institutional factor as so vividly illustrated in the Milgram studies of the 50's and 60's of prisoners and their guards.

What is so sick about what has happened in Iraq is that these kids doing the torturing actually enjoyed it.
