It's difficult to describe but it's fake, it's a lie, and it's a deception
The entire Bush campaign pretends to be something it is not. They pretend to be one of the people. They get on their bus and they meet adoring crowds of supporters and they make TV ads for their next commercial. Everything is a deception. Nothing is as it is presented.

It is disturbing to me when the media takes these staged events and present them as spontaneous and "real" and indicative of something they are not. The media assists the Bush campaign in their deceptions and present them as news on all the cable channels. It is simply wrong.

Everything from the strong leader BS, to more likeable, to being a strong Christian, to sticking with his promises, etc. He is none of the above, if we look at his actions and his words and his deeds. However, his campaign, with the assistance of the national media, makes his every move to be something other than the truth. They deceive the people with their propaganda and their lies. It's difficult to describe what is happening with the Bush campaign but I'm sure someone understands what I am attempting to explain???

2. It's called "Follow The Money"
Bush has made LOT of promises to corporate medie in return for their massive contributions. It is really rather simple.

Just like W.

4. "Clear Skies" aids industrial polluters; "Healthy Forests" aids logging..
"Mission Accomplished" means hundreds of GIs (and thousands of Iraqis) will die; "Osama will be brought to justice" means they don't know where the hell he is; no WMD means Saddam is an evil dictator; "No Child Left Behind" means that all children are being left behind; Medicare prescription drug reform means that private business will insert itself into the program with a vengeance (which was Newt Gingrich's long-term goal), etc. etc.

You're absolutely correct, kentuck -- the whole thing is a sham, a lie. The sad thing is that nearly half the nation buys this fake shit.

5. Another thing that burns me up
is when they say stuff like "Bush is in Michigan to tout his job record"

NO -- "Bush is in Michigan to campaign"

the first construction makes it sound like there is something to tout.

13. Cute trick
He flies off to the hinterlands, delivers a "policy speech," then retires to the fundraising dinner. Since the speech makes it official business, it becomes a freebie for the campaign.

He's been doing this since the get go.

It would actually be interesting to find out (1) the number of trips he's made to make "official appearances," and (2) the number of times those happened to coincide with a fundraising gig. I bet the two numbers would be awfully close.

Mention that the event in Michigan was ticket-only, so it was supporters only, and therefore naturally was friendly.

I nearly wrecked my car I was so amazed this was pointed out.

Edited for goofy typo.

Somebody get this fucking clown a fucking script!

Where does it fucking say all that crap? Can't you fucking read?

"George W Bush is a compassionate, prayerful, strong Christian leader who was a war hero and flies jets onto aircraft carriers. He is an average Joe beloved by all Americans and has restored morality and dignity to the White House."

That's what my fucking script says! Now everyone back to your places and let's try this again! With some fucking FEELING this time.

17. But he's deceiving the RIGHT people
Edited on Wed May-05-04 09:41 AM by Ezlivin
What he says may turn your stomach and make you question your own sanity, but the people to whom his message is directed absorb it all without hesitation.

Last night clips of one of his fundraising dinners was shown. He was self-deprecating, making fun of recent events, such as his inability to remember any "mistakes" he had made.

Through humor he is sending the message that he is on top of things, that he knows what he is saying and that he is fully cognizant of his message. This reassures those who hear the gaffes and enables them to assume that Bush is a very clever fellow.

And don't ever forget that these are the type of folks that would gladly drink the KoolAid.

19. Bush could eat a baby on live television
and the press would praise his table manners. There is nothing he can do that would cause those clucking, salivating cowards to report what is really going on. It's disgusting.
