Preliminary Ratings Rise for 'Nightline'
NEW YORK (AP) - The folks at ABC's "Nightline" thought Friday's telecast with the names of Americans killed in Iraq would be a ratings loser - and the opposite turned out to be true.

The broadcast had a 4.4 household rating in the nation's largest media markets, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Although numbers for the entire country won't be available until later this week, that preliminary measurement was up 22 percent from the previous Friday and was 29 percent more than other "Nightline" telecasts last week.

3. Good for NIghtline
I live in one of the towns that suffered a blackout on the show but ABC contacted a small secondary TV station in our area to carry it.
I understand that the little unheard of station had the largest viewing audience ever ....... and tons more people watched it than would normally watch Nightline!

Did you know that the CEO of Sinclair was arrested in 1996 in Maryland for lewd & lacivious acts with a prostitute in a car in full public view? This is the "moral" man who decides what we should or should not see??

Oh another piece of news... The local ABC TV station in this Republican hell hole, did a survey last night asking if Sinclair did the right thing by boycotting the show and the response was 75% NO!

4. Sinclair is also a Reservist and was headed out...
the next day for duty. I figure he's not going to Iraq. LOL
And if Bushco and company had a brain in their head, they would have understood that the ratings would only go up because of the publicity.
