My question: Is it too late for the US with the Arabs. When we have a new President will we be able to repair good relations with the whole Arab world - much less the Iraqis?

I fear the hatred they feel for Bush will be turned against the US - forever - even when Bush is gone.

2. The hatred was already there... this just illuminates it more.
Everything I've read about the Arab reaction to this news seems to say that these photos only confirm their beliefs.

I do have to add that the hypocrisy should be mentioned... Arab nations have ignored human rights violations in their own member nations for decades.

But the images coming out of Iraq do not help the US position, they do not propel the idea of exporting democracy, and they won't be forgotten.

In fact, I think this is the photo that will live forever, the photo that will be remembered, the photo that sums up this entire wretched occupation:

3. Hard to say about that.
This story has buried another important one. The Marines were kicked out. We had to appoint the former head of the republican guard. This is seen as a great victory by the opposition. I expect that we will be forced to withdraw to Kuwait very soon. Also consider that there will be many more stories of corruption and incompetence. This is just the first alligator to surface in Everglades of Iraq.
