Powell, " Lone voice of reason "
wrong all three time you war criminal you.

a. if you really meant " reason "

There is no voice even remotely close to reason in your gang.

b. If the term you were covering up was " treason "

You are far from alone in your gang.

c. If you meant " lying "

well that might be the closest, right that is as
close to the truth as you've ever come.

Conem Powell, " The Lying voice of reason "

4. as severly cropped as it is, yes...
It is on Maui, till a picture can be found of a wide shot
of a harbour in the carribean can be obtained.

Not that Maui isn't the bee's knees, it's just that the harbour is supposed to go with the theme in the sig and Jimmy was not talking about Maui.

8. the moof heart calls Grand Cayman home
Edited on Wed May-05-04 06:04 AM by moof
The picture of Napili Bay is one of the few wide angle pictures of a harbour type bay with a nice beach.

The one in the song is in Tahiti and the one in Georgetown north of Sunset house on Grand Cayman is the home of the heart.

It was great to at last have contact with someone who is still fighting the good fight, moof salutes you.

10. "His Cover-up of the My Lai massacre"
SNIP>

Powell's career began as an Army Ranger (special forces) during the Vietnam War. As Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations at a base in Vietnam, he was ordered to investigate claims of Army massacres at My Lai (where US forces murdered hundreds on March 16, 1968 - Powell had no involvement with that tragedy). Powell's cosmetic "investigation" of allegations by Tom Glen, who knew about the slaughter, claimed that his charges were false since Glen's superiors stated that he could not have witnessed abuses of Vietnamese. It wasn't until many months later that another soldier, Ron Ridenhour, complained to his Congressman, that serious inquiries into the My Lai massacre began within the Army, at Washington headquarters. -- The New Republic, April 17, 1995

When My Lai became public knowledge, many officers responded by resigning in protest or even joining peace demonstrations. Powell's response was to burrow further into the military establishment. He went to a higher post in the Pentagon, then to Nixon's Office of Management and Budget, where he met Weinberger and Frank Carlucci, who each commanded the Pentagon during the Reagan Administration. Powell kept silent for the rest of the war, the Watergate scandal, and Nixon's racist appeals for votes.

11. Kerry was right about "War Crimes" in Nam!
A Political and Military Biography of Colin Powell

SNIP>

Article Three of the Geneva Convention of 1949 to which the United States is a signatory, states that::

(1) Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, colour, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria. To this end the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever with respect to the above-mentioned persons:

(a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture;

In his memoirs, General Powell also defends the U.S. practice of forcibly displacing peasants and destroying their homes, part of the "strategic hamlet" program – in fact, Gen. Powell's first "combat" assignment was in that program.

12. Powell is the worst kind of tool, apologist and enabler
by managing to convince journalists privately that he is independent from and disagrees with Bush and Co, but then prominently appearing in public exploiting his image as the voice of reason statesman to always smooth over and put a positive slant on everything done by this corrupt administration. I lost all respect for him during his U.N. presentation of the bogus case for going to war but his appearance on Larry King last night cemented my low opinion of him as a smooth talking tool and cowardly enabler for Bush.
