Question: How is Hate-radio spinning the torture/murder
news reports? I don't have the fortitude to listen to the hate-talkers. Do any of you know how Rush, Hannity, and their sub-species are spinniing the Bush administration and the media's failure to get in front of this story and tell the American people of the egregious abuses? Are they doing the "I don't condone the torture and abuse, BUT..." and then go on to absolutely condone the abuse? Let me know. My premise is that these warmongering hate-talkers have blood on their hands, too. Their mindset encourages base behavior. They give those with this bent the seal of approval. Their hate has infected our mainstream and made prejudice and bullying "acceptable" to those who are eager to abuse others. What are they saying? No doubt we'll find the people who committed these acts are devoted hate-radio listeners. Just like Timothy McVeigh.

1. They are saying that it wasn't torture, just a little hazing
to get the newcomers used to the new frat house. The world needs to lighten up.

3. I can imagine that ...
as long as they can fabricate foiled terrorist attacks it will be justified.

Cheers

9. Thanks you all for your feedback
I didn't get the channel changed the other night and actually was infected by about 5 minutes of Colin Quinn's heinous show. His take, and that of his horrid guests, was also that the abuse was nothing more than frat party pranks. More false bravado from cowards who think talking tough is being tough. Such little pathetic men who bray lewdness as masculinity. What disgraceful worms these men are. Make sure you have the channel changer ready when The Daily Show ends.

4. In regards to your last line,
Have you read today's Plaid Adder? It addresses this quite a bit.

I don't know how they are spinning it, since I don't choose to listen to them either!

6. You'd see worse at a Brittany Spears concert, says Rush
I didn't hear it; my wife did. But she couldn't wait to tell me what Big Fat Lying Idiot Rush is, after hearing that.

7. I don't listen to hate radio but the official Rove spin is ...
"It's abuse not torture" and "It's an isolated incident." Among the ditto heads and freepers it's "blame the messenger" meaning CBS.

8. They are condemning it..
I listen to replays of all the talk shows on 3rd shift at work...practically every r/wing host condemns it totally, though they had a LOT of callers who were criticizing them for it. "Thank GOD we didn't have people like you (Glenn Beck) in charge when we dropped the bomb in WW2. The war would never have ended" That call stuck in my mind...There were a bunch of other callers to the shows saying torture is ok, but the sex stuff was going too far. For the most part though, the hosts of the shows were showing sanity and calling their own audience idiots for saying those things.

10. "Kerry self-confessed war criminal; yet blames Bush for 9000 miles away"
Edited on Wed May-05-04 10:42 AM by lostnfound
Houston KPRC this morning..
I have NEVER listened to rightwing radio until yesterday.
5 minutes yesterday by accident, hearing a women whining how the media only covers this 'one instance' of 'mistreatment' yet her relative is over there making sure these Iraqi men who committed terrorist acts get woken up in the morning to say their prayers and also get 3 square meals a day..'The troops even share their own MREs and go hungry so that these prisoners get their 3 square meals'.. Why isn't the media reporting any of that stuff, that goes on every day?

5 minutes today of self-inflicted pain of KPRC this morning -- heard the comment about Kerry. Why is he blaming Bush now for not stopping it, yet when he was in Vietnam he committed war crimes and he admits to it, so why didn't he stop that then.

On elevator at work: sick of hearing about torture, who cares, next thing PETA -- People for Ethical Treatment of ARABS -- will be protesting it.
