Bush: Liar and Flip Flopper: The Mother of all Flips has such dire
consequences... that it must be posted once more:

Global Warming is a dire and very important issue. It threatens every Human on this Planet. It cannot be denied, it is happening. Ocean levels are rising. Icebergs the size of Delaware are breaking off the Ross shelf in the Antarctic. Holes in the Ozone are getting larger. The ice caps are melting. The scientists who monitor these things are getting very very worried but their pleas go by the way side due to Rush and the rest of the ostriches including Bush himself.

He had an opportunity to make himself a real Hero by addressing this crucial priority. All he had to do was adhere to his campaign promise of addressing GW and support the Kyoto Accord. But NOOOO,

caved in to supporting interests that care not of the Future and Ourselves. Do they Know more than the scientists who have studied this over the past 50 years?

THE MOTHER OF ALL FLIP FLOPPERS; HE FOOLED US, POSED AS A GREENIE LITE
He FLIPPED when he shouldn't have and now all of Humanity has a very good chance to FLOP as the Oceans rise. We are so stupid to consider EXTENDING this losing Coach.....gasp.....ANOTHER 4 YEARS??? Are we nuts?

2. Sorry, but the mother-of-all flip-flops is Bush the nation-builder.
On and on he ranted about how the US military under Clinton-Gore was used for nation-building.

Under Clinton, we spent about a billion per year and a few thousand troops. Under Bush, we're attempting to totally reconstruct two entire countries from the ground up, at a cost to date of at least $200 billion, and no foreseeable end in sight.

14. IMHO it was the "I Trust the People"
Edited on Wed May-05-04 01:45 PM by Bandit
then before even the votes had been counted he said only machines can be trusted as they are objective while people are subjective. He wasn't even crowned king yet before this HUGE Flip flop. Remember his excuse for "Nation Building" is 9-11 changed everything. His "I Trust the People" Flip flop was way before everything got changed.

4. He also tends to take credit for ideas he OPPOSED.
There are examples from his days as governor of Texas. During the 2000 campaign, he claimed credit for legislative action he had actually opposed. I can no longer recall the issue, but I'm sure there are examples floating around in the press. Perhaps "Shrub: The Short but Happy Political Life of George W. Bush" had some examples.

During his administration, there's the example of the creation of a Department of Homeland Security. Joseph Lieberman and others came up with the idea after 9/11. Bush actively opposed the idea for many months, then switched tactics and said he supported it, but only if certain controls were put on the employees in the area of collective bargaining, etc.

Then Bush used the creation of the DHS as a campaign issue, suggesting that anyone who opposed his particular approach to the DHS employees was opposed to the DHS as a whole. I think this was one of the techniques they used against Max Cleland.

Yes, Bush is an EXTREMELY low-down, mean-spirited, mendacious, treacherous, whorish, hypocritical, dirty, vindictive, slimy being. He's beneath contempt.
