Sending someone else's child to fight the war on terror

This war on terrorism so jeopardizes the safety of our country that some of our finest young warriors must be held in reserve to protect the homeland.

I'm sure that's what the White House communications office would have said had it returned any of the three telephone calls I made asking about the children of our nation's leaders.

Is there any close relative of the president, vice president or any member of the cabinet serving in the military?

That was the question I asked.

"We'll get back to you," I was told again and again.
