6. Well, I love the Dixie Chicks.

Long before they became the target of the war-mongerers, I adored them. They are the Beatles of Country Music. That's the best comparison I can draw, honestly.

I'm so happy for Martie and Gareth; it's nice to have an optimistic, heart-lifting discussion in these dark, dark days.

Rock on, Dixie Chicks!!!! Keep speaking the Truth. And let's look back to some of the greatest protest songs ever written, which ring true 30 odd years later. Creedence rules! :-)

ON EDIT: You know what else rules? Your screenname, liarliartieonfire!! :D :D :D

"One Friday night at a football game
The Lord's Prayer said, and the Anthem sang
A man said 'Folks, would you bow your heads for a list of local Vietnam dead?'
Crying all alone, under the stands
Was a piccolo player in the marching band
And one name read, and nobody really cared...
'Cept a pretty little girl, with a bow in her hair"

- Dixie Chicks, "Travelin' Soldier"

4. Let's hope these girls don't have to announce on stage that they're
ashamed of President Jenna/Barbara/any of Jeb's spawn/ Bush.

7. They won't have to.
We're going to finish off this attempted monarchy in November.

Done. Buried. Finished. Look elsewhere, Republicans.

8. Actually, I think Nov. 2004 is as far as this crowd gets, too.
If these little girls have as one of their presidents a daughter of a former president her name will be Chelsea.
