...until after the November election."
You'll find that little nugget of truth on the sidebar for the following article (Bush asks for $25 billion more for Iraq, Afghanistan) on CNN's site:
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/05/05/war.spending/index.html...under this photo:
Check it out before Karl Rove calls the Webmaster and tells them to remove it. People might get the wrong idea, don't you know.
...and the article has this quote from Bush:
""While we do not know the precise costs for operations next year, recent developments on the ground and increased demands on our troops indicate the need to plan for contingencies," Bush said in a written statement released by the White House. "We must make sure there is no disruption in funding and resources for our troops."
So, let's review:
1). They wanted to win the election before bleeding the taxpayers for another $25 billion, which will ONLY...and this is an ESTIMATE...get them through the end of November.
2). They have no idea what it's going to cost in fiscal year 2005, so anyone pissed off about the $112 billion (87 plus the new request for 25) should SAVE THEIR ENERGY for getting REALLY pissed off after November (if Bush isn't defeated).
3). "Contingencies"...ah, yes, contingencies. Like World War III.
4). No disruption. Like voting for the funds, deciding how the bill is going to be repaid, etc. I want it, just vote on it, don't you understand we are fighting TERRA?
