Did Rumsfield read the Taguba Report?
From C- Span: Sec. of Defense Donald Rumsfeld Pentagon Briefing (05/04/2004) http://www.c-span.org/

C-Span Video starting at 20:22 (transcript is mine)

Q: Mr. Secretary have you yet read the Taguba Report?

Rumsfeld: The..the… It’s… It’s… Which?…I think you’re talking about the executive summary? I’ve seen the executive summary.

Q: Have you read through it, sir?

Rumsfeld: I’ve been through it. Whether I have I read every page, no.

There’s a lot of references to documentation to laws and conventions and procedures and requirements, but I have certainly read the conclusions and uh, the other aspects of it…
================

So here’s how Rumsfeld went through it without reading every page ( like all executives- just read the first page and the last and thus remain clueless):
The Tabuga Report

CONCLUSION
1. (U) Several US Army Soldiers have committed egregious acts and grave breaches of international law at Abu Ghraib/BCCF and Camp Bucca, Iraq. Furthermore, key senior leaders in both the 800th MP Brigade and the 205th MI Brigade failed to comply with established regulations, policies, and command directives in preventing detainee abuses at Abu Ghraib (BCCF) and at Camp Bucca during the period August 2003 to February 2004.
2. (U) Approval and implementation of the recommendations of this AR 15-6 Investigation and those highlighted in previous assessments are essential to establish the conditions with the resources and personnel required to prevent future occurrences of detainee abuse.

1. Of course he read it, as did Gen. Myers.
The Taguba Report was likely delivered to their desks, by a low-level lackey, the very moment the last page came out of the HP Laserjet.

Of COURSE they read it. Of course!!

Myers and Rumsfeld are just lying liars, that's all. Get used to it... there's more to come.

I agree they are liars...

But if he read it, like good liars, he would've at least been conversant of the facts...

5. One of the recomendations of the report that needs to be pushed
(this investigation primarily focuses on the 800th Military Police Brigade)

8. (U) That an inquiry UP AR 381-10, Procedure 15 be conducted to determine the extent of culpability of Military Intelligence personnel, assigned to the 205th MI Brigade and the Joint Interrogation and Debriefing Center (JIDC) regarding abuse of detainees at Abu Ghraib (BCCF).

(assuming that it hasn't been done already but hasn't been released)
