Bush tells al-Hurrah reporter "Good job"
An Arab commentator on NPR said that he thought this was an odd thing
for Bush to say, and he thought it sounded condescending, like a pat on the head.

The dumb NPR reporter tried negating this interesting observation by saying, well,
in fairness to Bush, it's not that unususal. The commentator said, well, I never
heard Bush tell Tim Russert, "Good job."

Q Thank you very much, Mr. President.

1. I missed that, but a friend was telling me about it last night
She said the same thing struck her during the press conference, and she was surprised to hear anyone bring it up.

6. I actually seem to remember him saying that before in an interview
I can't remember who it was with, one of the major media whores IIRC, but I remembered thinking it was odd at that time as well.

I remember thinking, how insulting to be talked down to by that idiot, and
wondering, doesn't Bush know everyone thinks he's an idiot?

edit: he said it to Tony Blair

9. If he was being fed lines via an earpiece...
Edited on Thu May-06-04 12:12 PM by NormanConquest
he probably didn't realize the operator was giving him a compliment & he was supposed to STOP repeating the transmission.

Very similar to his Pop's "Message: I care" blunder.
