Will "Helter Skelter" show the world"


that Americans are good, humane, caring people! NOT
For CBS to air the movie Helter Skelter, especially now after the torture and abuse to prisoners in Iraq would just show
the world how cruel and insane American's can be.

Is this movie something we want to brag about to the world?

This movie will just add fuel to the fire which is racing through out the world about the heartless cruelty and inhumane
depths to which Americans can sink.
I mean, with those pictures and the scandal of the cruelty in the prisons in Iraq and (the word is) Afghanistan too,
should
we be reminding people and showing others for (the first time) how depraved and immoral we can be.

Everyone in the administration is going out of their way to try to convince the world the abuses were just a few isolated
incidents and not the way American young people really are.
So what do they do... bring out this movie which will show the world just how evil and depraved Americans have been in

the past.
Don't they realize some people are going to see parallels between the behavior in the movie and the actions in the Iraqi

prisons.

This movie is almost like shoving in the world's face how degenerate and inhuman formally "good" kids can turn into.

Will this movie convince the Iraqi's that they need to worry that these "good young people" who are occupying their
country might change for the worse and possibly end up doing the horrible things they see in this movie?

Who made the brilliant decision to bring this movie back at this time?
Do we have to show the world some of the worst American citizens?

Doesn't ANYONE have a brain in this country?

Now (actually never) is not a good time to shove this movie in the face of the world, even in the face of Americans.

I remember when it happened -- the murders, not the movie.

to me and my peers, the main impact was that for a few months you couldn't catch a ride to save your life if your hair was at all long or you looked at all discheveled.

which is not to minimize what happened -- vicious, brutal murders by lunatics who were probably responsible for a lot more than what they were convicted of doing....

Oh, and it's a hell of a song, too....(the Beatles' original, not the UW cover.)

I think it's time the world look beyond the myth of "America, Land of the Free and Home of the Brave"

They need to see the other side of this country, the dark side that has always been here. It was here when expanding to the West, native populations were slaughtered, when Americans moved to Texas, and then
betrayed their promises. And let's not forget the lynchings of blacks,
not only in the south but in places like Indiana. Maybe we should
show them how we treated Japanese Americans during WWII, by locking them up in internment camps just because they looked different.

Our history is filled with darkness, we have always looked down our noses at Europe and their evil deeds, and yet we have refused to look at ourselves in the mirror. This movie is just a small example of what
the other side of America looks like, and I for one think that it's time the world was shown some of the truth.

Why censor now? It's not like it's a Reagan smear or anything.

Unlike most Americans, most of the world knows the difference between movies and reality, psychopaths and non-psychopaths, and George Bush and everyone else in America.

Now when they start making movies about Heroes torturing people for no apparent reason in a far away country, it might be time to break out the scissors.
