looking at the photos. Don't let him off the hook for this. Did YOU tell anyone "I was sorry to see the humiliation of the prisoners"? Were YOU apologizing?

There is a VAST difference between expressing a sorry, sad feeling over what one sees and saying "I am Sorry for what WE DID"

1. these assholes NEVER take responsibility

reminds me of St. Ronnie after Iran-contra blew up. Using the passive voice, "Mistakes were made" was the closest he could come to taking responsibility.

2. Saying that he told someone else he was sorry is NOT an apology
And why the King of Jordan, by the way? Wouldn't it have been more appropriate if he'd spoken with the Iraqi governing council first?

3. EXACTLY! And he did not say the words the way the media is claiming
He said "I told King Abdullah I was sorry for the humiliation blablabla."

Notice the distance. Not "I'm sorry," but "I told someone I was sorry." My daughter does that. I say "Apologize," she says "I already did!" The words are hard to say, and it does something good to the soul to say them. I don't let my daughter get away with it, but the press is letting W do it.

Notice, also, that Rangel's speech to impeach Rumsfield has been smothered off the news and off this board by Bush's "apology."
