Wexler commenting on Rangel's call for impeachment
if we find that the Presidnet failed to tell the truth about actions in Iraq... it falls under High Crimes....

Hey at least Rangel's commment made it to somewhat news media and maiinstream, and Novackula is an idiot.

Oh and Kerry is making an accountablity pledge to the troops

5. There are Hummers and Hummers...

"like lying about getting a hummer in the Oval Office???? love the standards GOPhers set...."

Well, at least OUR Prez got HIS hummer *in person* instead of delegating the kinky sex to underlings in another country on other citizens!

I mean... if you want something done well... do it yourself! The Shrubbery didn't have the stones to get a courtin'-tackle hoovering *personally* so he delegated and this is what we end up with.

6. ...wtf...
you think I was supporting the current chimp-in-chief? :wtf:

the point of the post was that, since the definition of "high crimes and misdemeanors" is never defined in the Constitution, it is up to precedent to determine what it is. and since the GOPhers have apparently set the bar at lying about getting a hummer as being an impeachable offense, then CERTAINLY lying about why soldiers were sent to die is an offense warranting impeachment and conviction by a trial in the Senate.

why you jumping around with this "OUR president" crap with me? I don't know which president you support, but I'm for the one that gave us 8 years of unmatched prosperity. That had a true vision for the country. That actually won the election and didn't need his father's cronies on the Supreme Court to swing things his way. The president that worked WITH the world community, instead of swaggering through them like a cowBOY. The one who was a Rhodes Scholar and intellectual, not the one that needs people to explain every detail to him and boasts that he doesn't read very much.

14. It doesn't matter that he lied, unless he was under oath
Now, the $700 million embezzlement is probably impeachable.

3. I think Rangel referred to impeaching Rumsfeld, not aWol.
For not informing Congress and WH, etc.

The chimp is next, because he will crack under this pressure and do something regrettable. They always do.

THAT is what worries me.. and the period from Nov 3rd to Jan 19th scares me even more. Ghod knows what he will do when he has nothing to be held accountable AT ALL for.

I wouldn't put it past him to start an attack on Korea/Cuba/Iran on the Jan 17th and the tell Kerry "have fun..."

9. Rummy can't be impeached. He is a political appointee.

Impeachment refers to the president, not his cabinet.

Cabinet appointees can be impeached according to the other thread.
If the Senate has to confirm them it only makes sense that they can be impeached.

according to this http://www.infoplease.com/spot/impeach.html
a cabinet officer has been impeached The Infamous Sixteen

"Since 1797 the House of Representatives has impeached sixteen federal officials. These include two presidents, a cabinet member, a senator, a justice of the Supreme Court, and eleven federal judges. Of those, the Senate has convicted and removed seven, all of them judges. Not included in this list are the office holders who have resigned rather than face impeachment, most notably, President Richard M. Nixon."

I would think Rangel would know whether Rumsfeld can be impeached.
He could be wrong, but this seems to indicate he is right.

8. Along with Senator Harkin about Rummy's accountability
"Step down or be fired". He also noted, when asked by Leslie Blitzer, that if Bush knew about the torture before it hit the public, the same should go for him.

Making some serious noise...about time.

12. of course they all knew.
the red cross has been telling them and they have their own reports.
the only reason they ever came out is because it broke in the news.
they have probably been trying to gather up all of the copies of the pictures for awhile.

they are animals.

16. "the only reason they ever came out" - you got it
The Pictures.

Without them, this is a few talk show 'discussions', then into the memory hole.

And what nailed Nixon? The Tapes. Without them, some newspaper articles and a few underlings punished.

Deny and stonewall all they want. You don't need to speak Arabic or English to understand those pictures.
