Abu Ghraib, I am undecided about why this is all coming to light
Edited on Thu May-06-04 07:57 PM by Rebellious Republica
Is it because so many books and former aides speaking out against Bush are getting to much air time. Think about it, who is going to take the fall for the abuse, some nobody underlings. This will slide right off Teflon George. Was Rove saving this for just such an occasion. Evidence shows that the knowledge about this has been out there for quite some time. What do you see in the media 24/7, Abu Ghraib, what about Joe Wilson's book, and all the other stuff. Gone, its all been wiped right off the ole radar, interesting don't you think?

The other thing that it could be, is the story about the female soldiers that were shower cammed. They filed a complaint back in November about their commander photographing them in the shower. Maybe they saw that their complaints were going no-where. Now what if they had access to the torture photo's, and they decided that the only way to bring attention to their case was to do an end run and expose what was happening at Abu Ghraib. Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm? Any thoughts on these scenarios?

Maybe The Committee That Really Runs America has a plan and George&Co are now viewed as a liability.

2. I think we have many great people in the military
True heroes. People of high character.

And I think they have decided they have had enough of watching this regime abuse the National Guard and Reservists, engage in reckless foreign policy, play at war and allow rouge intelligence elements run wild, all for the profit of the BFEE.

I think they are tired of seeing their comrades die because of the incompetence of the Commander In Chief.

They are exposing this because it is the right thing to do.

3. I would think that this is much more damaging to
the chimp regime than any books that have come out. The books were partisan, this is what they have done themselves and attempted to cover up, not driven by any partisanship. If anything can bring chimp down this is it.

4. hum
I wonder why nobody is outraged that the soldiers didn't know what Geneva was until they found it on the internet.
I think this is a small snapshot of what is happening on a larger scale, not small isolated incident like Bush says.
We can't really understand what is happening "on the ground" we just know that it is a living hell.
This is a clearer picture of what the nebulus term "war" really entails.
Rush Limbaugh says, they were just "having fun".
This administration and the people that tow the line have a severely perverted image of humanity.
Rush also said it was like watching a Britney Spears and Madonna video.
All this sex goes with the violence. Its part and parcel. Thus the glorification of the female sex tennage goddess in America. A weak woman to refer to when a punching bag is needed. Also, blacks are only allowed to be famous on the mainstream press if they play sports, or are having legal problems.

5. It's because they allowed the troops to take cameras into Iraq.
I remember seeing a story on the local news before the war. Troops were packing up and they all had cameras. It's just that simple.

6. The thought crossed my mind that George is getting ready to withdraw
from Iraq and turn over daily operations but he did not want the Iraqis to say they "defeated" George W Bush and the Americans. So how could he prevent that? He could humiliate them before hand to the point that they could never say they defeated the Americans...

7. Because evil has the seeds of it's own end built in it's DNA
Hubris, cover-up, arrogance.

Oh, you think it's GOOD press? Ah, no as I said in another post-the media has to have a Picture, and bango this is the full monty, the best, most sorid way to take them down. And they deserve it.

There is no picture of the crime against Valerie Plame, no picture of them stealing the money from Afghanistan to fund the Iraq war. It's gotta to be (sadly) in our sensational, reality TV age, a really bad picture to move people into "getting it."

It's all about the image.

10. my view is an universal one
there was a shift on 9/11. of the polarities in life. the good and bad, lite and dark, 9/11 was an opportunity in evolution to walk to love and elovution. we took it the wrong path, we chose anger and fear and hate. and as a stone in a lake causes a ripples so does the power and energy of such hate.

but, there is a higher in all and once again we are being given a huge gift of opportunity in awareness.

my view, why it is so important for kerry to walk it in honor. and it will spread and grow. i always embrace when kerry speaks truth. that feeds truth. i embrace when kerry is in balance adn stillness,

this is what kerry's wife and kucinich and i have in common
