how much of a threat are bush's bornagains to our union?
i'm vacillating between thinking bush is a totally phony bornagain, simply sucking off them like a leech for votes, or, a real, insane endtimer bent on hastening the return of the avenging christ and surfing the rapture.

we know they are a dedicated and powerful voting block, and we are literally surrounded by them. we all know a few, some of us are even bornagains ourselves, here in DU land. the saner ones, the ones who can distinguish between the real jesus, and george bush's rambo jesus. we all know that the few make the whole look bad.

and we all know they are gearing up right now for a landslide of their very own 'god-appointed and supreme court anointed' boy.
how much of a threat do they present to our union, and to the world?

some call them the american taliban, led by the t.v. blowhards. some think they are entrenched in our government and breaking down the seperations between secular and saintly. i tend to fear them, as it would be a simple matter for their 'leaders' to turn them on we, the liberal secularists.

3. It scares me!
It really doesn't matter what * believes. Since he's catering to these folks it gives them encouragement and power. Even if the bushies are just using them to into power and they could easily lose control of them and we all end up in a militant fundamentalist state.

Have you read "The Handmaid's Tale?" I used to think it's storyline was too far fetched for reality, but not anymore.

4. .
I believe the JAmes Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson contingent pose a severe risk to our fundamental inalienable rights, to our beloved Union.

You only need look at what John Asscroft has done while in power to discern the path we are on to a totalitarian theocratic state.

That man is the true fanatic of this Administration.

When it's a radical notion to fight to protect the Bill of Rights, you know things are screwed up.

The bottom line is that we must educate others about the threat these people who infuse themselves into the machine of government pose to our basic freedoms.

If Bush gets to appoint 2 or 3 nutty Fundamentalists to the Supreme Court, I believe our beloved nation will be lost.

5. The Talibornagains are the BIGGEST threat to this nation
They are superstitious, silly, arrogant, demented, fools who do not connect with reality in any way. They are on a crusade. THEY are the biggest enemy this country has.

They want to go back to the 14th century. They are worse than the Islamic fundamentalists, because they have more planes, bombs and guns.

6. He's Dubya Koresh
I'm determined to get people to refer to him as that. Just think of the world as Mt. Carmel in his case.

7. I think he's authentic
He's like a lot of really religious people I know. They justify any sin they do and have a sense of denial about real morality.

8. I am truly frightened.
I believe he has had to temper his agenda somewhat to date. But can you imagine the lunacy that would ensue if this dangerously stupid man were allowed to govern, unfettered from any fear of ever again having to stand for re-election?
