Just heard someone on the radio the other day talking about the "horrible rape and imprisonment" of Lynch.

And yet another prison guard who claims he was never told how to handle prisoners. Wonder how many of these there are out there?

I can just hear it now...OMG look what they did to our boys and girls in uniform!!! I am rapidly losing the capacity to fee anything but contempt for our glorious occupiers. Sorry, but I don't consider these things to be isolated, not at all. It is part of the US military culture that has emerged in the more recent past. It is nothing but the, "Kill 'em all, let Gaawwwdd sort 'em out" attitude. We should all be so proud.

She didn't choose her "fate" and even fought against her beatification
up to the point where someone said "Stop or else". It's a shame that
her story (even the tiny true bit) is being stirred into this shit-pool
of mindless cruelty, in the same way that powdered whitener is stirred
into coffee - just to lighten it a bit and let people pretend that the
end result is palatable.

The "rifle from the 507th" ("Jessica's") link is the only bit that
most people will remember. It doesn't matter that there was a whole
frigging division over there, not just one lost truck.

This is the fact that will be glossed over, forgotten by the hero-searchers:

Heck, there was a letter in the New York Times today that implied that any torture at Abu Ghraib was in retaliation for the contractors whose burned bodies were left hanging from a bridge in Fallujah. Anybody else see a problem with a timeline that excuses acts of "revenge" in December and January for killings that wouldn't happen for another two or three months?
