Take Me Home, Country Roads
In case Jessica Lynch chooses to attend the welcome home for fellow West Virginian Lynndie England, it's a four-hour drive from Palestine to Fort Ashby. It's likely that Lynndie's party will be more subdued than the one for Jessica.

Jessica and Lynndie have a lot in common. They're both sweetly pretty, and both joined the Army to escape the poverty of West Virginia. Is the difference between them merely the fortunes of war? Lynndie doesn't look like the bitch in the pictures.

1. Ms England
Edited on Fri May-07-04 10:44 AM by Skittles
is a disgrace to America, the military AND a disgrace to women. Utterly shameful.

Please try to resist the urge to paint the actions of this wretched woman as cultural to rural folk.

2. Ms England is merely a representative of the Criminal Culture
that has become our nation. You're right, she is disgraceful, shaeful and wretched--but guess what--she's just 'doing her job' as she understands it in the context of this Criminal Culture. This culture has deep roots in the upper classes of this nation--why else would we have the likes of Bush in office and all the cronies he's put in power around him.

I'm going to say it on this board over and over again: As shameful as the actions of these individuals were in their mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners, it is NOTHING compared to the overwhelming brutality of the invasion of Iraq. We are offended by sexual innuendo and torture--but what about children with their arms, legs and heads blown off? What about mothers and fathers and brothers and sisters MURDERED DAILY FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS RIGHT OUT IN THE OPEN? And why? Why? Everyone knows that every reason given WAS A LIE!!

This country has become infested with criminal cabals in high places. They have systematically corrupted and destroyed everything of integrity in our society. And the AMERICAN PEOPLE have let it happen over a period of three generations!

SHAME BE UPON US ALL!

3. Do we know they were "escaping the poverty?"
I hear this everytime the military is mentioned. I know dozens of people in the military. Most of them did it for college money. The rest out of a sense of duty. Do that many people really do it to "escape the poverty?"

Besides, I've seen dozens of stories on Jessica's family. They look like rural, lower middle-class people with a house I would love to pick up and drop in Fairfax County, VA and then sell it for 1.2 million.

And I know nothing about the crazy girl. Maybe her parents have money. Maybe she's an Army brat.
