they issue reports to the govt. that are considered classified/confidential because they question both troop and civilians alike of conditions...and it is feared a breach in that confidentiality will prevent troops and civilians alike from answering the Red Cross in the future..

or so the reasoning goes....this is what the Red Cross told my husband in Iraq-when he with through the Red Cross questioning..

Me, personally? I think the Red Cross has a duty to bring attention to war crimes, etc. And surely Congress has the right to know what's in those reports.
