Demonstrators disrupt the hearing on prisoner abuses in Iraq (news - web sites) during testimony by U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, before the Senate Armed Services Committee (news - web sites) on Capitol Hill in Washington, May 7, 2004. Rumsfeld took responsibility for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. personnel and apologized to the victims, the Iraqi people and Americans. (Gary Hershorn/Reuters)

2. My heart swelled with pride as I watched this.
Thank you, demonstrators, for representing the voice of Americans. Nobody cares about us, nobody is listening to us. You spoke for so many of here, and you did it with courage and aplomb.

I applaud you. I thank you. People like you allow me to continue to have faith in my country.

4. Are we sure the White House isn't behind this?
If Rummie goes, he is the problem. Bush is reborn and reelected. I'd love to be convinced that I'm wrong.

Even if I am wrong, let's always remember to keep the focus on Bush. Bush is ultimately, if not directly, at fault. Rums is not a candidate for office.

5. No, no, no.
You can't replace the Secretary of Defense without nominating his replacement, which brings up a whole new slew of Senate Confirmation Hearings that will likely, in a heated election season, deteriorate into an embarrassing attack on the Pentagon.

It's the last thing Bush needs right now. He'd much rather take his chances with Rumsfeld's unpopularity and leave him in there than open up a new can-o-worms by attempting to replace him.

It's a lose-lose situation for the President.

7. I wish I could have seen it.
I hope they aren't all in Guantanamo by now. They did us all proud.

I guess * didn't set up the Senate to be far, far away from a "free speech" zone. How could he have made such a big mistake? Oh, yeah, he doesn't make mistakes.

At 1:38, it still has a 4.87 rating with 66 votes.
