the US has NO "moral authority" in Iraq...
Edited on Fri May-07-04 01:46 PM by Postman
the invasion and occupation was launched based on known lies and half-truths.

It is an immoral invasion and occupation.

It was immoral to lie to our soldiers thinking they were avenging 911 in Iraq when in fact Iraq had nothing to do with the attck on the US.

Bush shunned the United Nations as an irrelevant debating society if they did not rubber-stamp Bush's war. Inspectors were on the ground. They were interfering with the Bush/PNAC plan for war in Iraq regardless of the reason.

Any further call for more US troops via a military draft should be resisted.

6. Meet the news boss, same as the old boss...
When Bush declared his "holy" war on Sadam (called, in those parts, Jihad, I believe) it was to bring the wonderful benefits of Western Democracy to Iraq and free the people from a dictator who terrorised them with torture and humiliation. So off go the troops, the "contractors" the "advisers" and the "specialists" and what do the Iraqi people see as the end result of this moral crusade? Torture and humiliation.

It's no good saying that these are only a few "rogue" individuals - if you start a war in the name of "the people" then it follows that everything done in that process can also be seen to be on behalf of the people.

This is what happens when a bunch of immoral liers do whatever they want and justify it as being in your/our name.
