Poll question: Will Rumsfeld actually Resign
We know that pretty much all of us here at DU stand behind the fact that Rumsfeld SHOULD resign. Question is, will he?

Not only are politicians calling for his head but The New York Times, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, New York Newsday, Boston Globe, Minneapolis Star Tribune and Detroit Free Press have also posted editorials that Rumsfeld should step down.

But unlike the Clinton administration, where his staff & cabinet would take responsible including resigning, this is NOT something to expect from the Bush Regime.

So what do you think - will Rummy Resign???

1. Yes, he will be the Whipping Boy du Jour
Tenet got off the hook, but with dubya's ratings under 50% they're going to chuck Rummy overboard

2. Yeah, I'm starting to think that he just might
The pressure is incredible. At the same time, I can see the amazing arrogance of him and this entire administration thumbing their nose at all of the outrage.

3. NO ...It will damage Bush's re-election too much
The Administration would be severely damaged by his being forced out so close to November

4. Being a robot from the past
created by theorists and conservatives in 1873 to preserve American Valuse (as they were understood at that time), Rumsfeld is incapable of altering his programing. So I don't think he'll resign.

Actually it's not in this adminsitrations nature to take responsibility for their failings, so he won't resign.

5. No one resigned
after Mi Lai - and there we had a slaughter - about 6 times more senior officers have recieved some sort of punishment here than when we actually killed women & children. More heads will roll but not past the one-star level.

6. No
Theres no way he'll take responsibility for anything that goes wrong under his tenure. He is too arrogant to admit to a mistake or take personal responsibility for anything. Its a trademark of the Bush regime.

He took full responsibility and said it happened on his watch.

This may be a damage control maneuver to take the heat off of Bu$h.

8. The First of Many
Resignations, impeachments, criminal trials, crimes against humanity---this will be the Administration that creates a WPA for lawyers that lasts 25 years.

Question: What do you have to do to get FIRED in this MisAdministration?

Answer: Ask Valerie Plame!
