It's just like the copycat types that use a real event to create or claim one of their own. We should filter and vet such claims carefully because many with a bone to pick with Americans are going to try and piggyback on this.

...The most sadistic case to come across our desk involves two US Marines now undergoing court-martial proceedings stemming from the death of an Iraqi citizen called Mr. Hatab. The killing took place last year at Camp Whitehorse outside Nasyriya.
Hatab was detained by a Marine patrol on June 5, 2003.

The Marines were apparently enraged by the fact that Hatab was discovered carrying a rifle from the 507th, the division of famed damsel in distress Jessica Lynch, which had been ambushed early in the war. Two Marine Lance Corporals covered the the civilian with feces, stomped on him, kicked him, dragged him, and finally broke his neck, resulting in his death.

The Marine Major who ordered the abuse faces military trial for dereliction of duty and assault. The Marine reservist who killed Hatab has already been cleared of wrongdoing by a military tribunal. One other Lance Corporal, a federal corrections officer in the US, is charged with kicking Mr. Hatab.

The fact that it has hit the story has hit the
news is REALLY bad news for our troops.
I pray it is not true, and don't mean to minimalize
the atrociousness of the act.
If it is true, the people who did it and allowed it
should be locked away forever.
If it is not true, I am thankful that no child endured
such treatment, but fully aware of what it implies
for the troops when it is read by Muslims, who unlike
'murikkkans have a deep sense of modesty and
protectiveness for their children and especially the
sacredness of their female children.
Can you imagine seeing an Iraqi girl dressed in
the hideous hooker garb that the malls in America
push on our young women?
