Why do Freepers hate America so much?

If they are in favor of torture they must hate America and it's long tradition of abstaining from torture. They obviously would have preferred that the confederacy win the war between the states, what with all that nastiness in Andersonville. And of course, they prefer places like Turkey and Syria which freely practice torture. They should all move there. If they like torture so much, and thus hate America and it's no torture policy, how can they hate Venezuela and Cuba, since they believe that these countries practice torture. They hate America so much that they should move to North Korea, where torture and starvation are the law. They would love a country where the leader is viewed as a deity and all who disagree with said leader are dealt with in a harsh fashion that makes treatment at Abu Ghraib look like an extreme makeover.

Then they can look up countries that practice torture and move there immediately.

social justice for all

freedom of assembly to complain about government abuses of power

freedom of the press to report on abuses of power by those in governmental office

America was meant all along to be a liberal country. It started out with the most liberal government on earth, and every major change has been made by liberals.. Face it - Neoconservatives have found themselves in the wrong country, and are therefore trying to destroy it. Doing a damn good job too.

hate America for congressional control of the purse strings and declaration of war authority; they hate America for the separation of powers among/between the three major branches of government and the separation of church and state; they hate America as the land of the free and home of the brave; they hate America as the land of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; they hate America for having a government of, by and for the people; they hate America for equal opportunity, justice and protection under the law; and they hate America for the doctrine of government acting in the general welfare rather than the welfare of the chosen few. These are some of the reasons they hate America and anyone who doesn't believe all of the above are under attack, including freedom of speech, has not being paying attention all the while a corporatist, theological, police-state-type of government headed by a dictator is taking shape: that's what they love, yearn for and are determined to have.
