Here are some of the Republican refrains (My top ten list).
There are the themes that I have picked up over the last few days:

1. The terrorists did worse things to us that we've done to prisoners.

2. The bad guys haven't apologized.

3. It's only a handful of people doing this.

4. Talking about this is bad for troop morale.

5. Talking about this is unpatriotic.

6. Look at all the wonderful things we've done for these brown-skinned people.

7. Everyone is entitled to make a mistake once and a while.

8. I take full responsibility but it's not my fault really, it's his fault, their fault, somebody else's fault...Clinton's fault.

9. "I have been told that..." "It's my understanding that..." "I don't recall..." "The dog ate the document..."

10. If there just weren't those pictures...it's those pictures that are bad, not us, not the abusers, it's those damn pictures!

1. They reveal the inner workings of the Pub Mindset.
They think small, not BIG, unable to envision the LARGER PICTURE

They think Positive in a Subjective way, not Objective al all.

Excuses, Denial, Rationaization, Blame, etc are their Forte.

Pubs control our thinking by picking on Emotional issues.

They always look for the BAD when it comes to ideas other than their own. Very Negative view points. Nit Pickers really.

Tons more, I could write 4784765895787126.09 books

2. Don't forget
What the president meant to say, according to Scott McClellan,....

I'm sorry, I have no recollection of that event.

And.....

I refuse to answer on the grounds that it might tend to incriminate myself.

4. Let's hope we get to the "I refuse to answer" part
because that will mean someone is in deep doo doo! :-)

6. Hi Velma! Did you catch that one?
Right at the beginning of Rummy's testimony he touted some bigass document they had created...the chain of command, I think...and then one of the generals told him that they had forgotten to bring it. If I were on that committee I would have moved to suspend proceedings and told them to sprint back to the Pentagon. God!

7. Yup, I heard it and...
I'm still in the process of picking my jaw up off the floor.

All I've been able to think all day is that if I went into a meeting with my agency's Board as unprepared as Rummy has apparently been for these hearings in Congress (not having copies of documents, not knowing the answers to some pretty obvious questions, not having read the fucking reports) my boss would fire my ass.
