Stop apologizing dam it

To: TomServo
This is pathetic

To: TomServo
The Arabs understand nothing but power.

Bush's sniveling and whining makes me want to puke

To: uncbob
Uncbob, I agree. It IS pathetic. Did FDR ever apologize to Hirohito for interring the Japanese? Did Churchill ever apologize to Hitler for firebombing Dresden? I don't think so. The Arab press is entirely corrupt and will no doubt turn anything we say or do into propaganda against us. I'm not saying we should let the incident go, I just don't think the US president should be bowing and scraping in front of our Arab enemies.

To: boxsmith13
Really, I never thought he would cave in and apologize.
Disgusting.

32. But now Bush is against them!
Not just disappointing but gone on record contrary to their heartland felt support of war crimes.

Now they are standing nakedly exposed as wannabe fascists with no glorious leader. Bush finds them repugnant to save his own skin and the Arab oil sheiks matter more than his base when the chips are down.

The self-serving betrayals will get worse. Enjoy the ride.

3. Remember...
The red states all voted for Bush.

The red states are all in the south.

The south is where slavery & lynchings existed.

So the same red state people think what the US did to Iraqis is perfectly just, right, the way life should be.

Frightening, I know.

Blue areas are densely populated. They get out their voters a bit better, and of course they have some "insider help"..That's all there is to it:(

27. First, let me note Saginaw County (MI) is blue, blue blue
Then I'll add that my great-great-grandfather, 1stGenDem, was a son of the South who voted for Breckenridge in 1860, who had zero use for Abraham Lincoln, and who probably thought that Tennessee state matters were best left to the State of Tennessee.
He never owned a slave, but joined the Confederate militia when the Yankees attacked forts Henry and Donelson in 1862, serving something like 39 days in active service before spending three years in a POW camp at Rock Island, Illinois, suffering exactly as did the inmates at Andersonville.
After the war, he went to a Presbyterian seminary and spent the rest of his years preaching liberty, equality, forgiveness and good will towards men. He died, circa 1929, as the oldest Presbyterian minister in the state of Kentucky.
He was a Democrat to his final breath. So were his son, his son's son, and his son's son's daughter. So am I.
Four generations of me resents the slur. But I'm used to it.

not all of us in the south approve, or ever approved of slavery, lynchings, torture and murder. Some of us actually were against this war and despise this admin.

Please don't paint us all with such a broad brush.

15. Not in my unhappy corner of Texas
you must live in the eastern half of the state. Out in my half of the state I've yet to hear ONE person do more than vaguely say it "might have gone too far...but it *is* wartime" Oh, and the possibility that there "*might* be a few bad apples" and what is the worst thing those bad apples are doing? The same old thing: "trying to embarrass a good man!" (Bush*)

Ooops! I forgot one: the disgust over showing "half naked men even if they are all blurred up!" But, then again, I live right near one of the monuments to injustice the infamous Tulia...

18. In the heart of Texas
plenty of people are disgusted with the Bushit cabal and what's happening. This morning a Vietnam vet, Marine, Gunnery Sgt. at KheSan was OUTRAGED! He is furious at Rumdum and Bushit and ready to dump them all. The coffee shop this afternoon fairly steamed with approbrium at what is happening to our country. Plenty of people in my part of the state SAY they will never vote re-pube again. We'll see. BTW--Bush aint from Texas--he and his whole damn family are from Kennebunkport, Maine. Don't ever forget that!

telling me he would have done the same thing. and those muslim,.....i say, oh baby that isnt very christian, and he pulls out old testament, and i compare mulim fundamentalist = to christian fundamentalism.

i was getting my oil changed. we talked about kerry and the lies about him and his character, what this boy and the others did do was listen. seeing my children too are in fundie school.

it is merely a brainwashing, i did see with these young men, that they listened. when i asked, have you heard one positive thing said about kerry anywhere on the news, both guys admitted to not

i ended with if nothing more, listen, dont just be fed. we are talking the future of my kids.

but they do see muslims as animal, have dehumanized

a funny with going to war, they said what else could we have done, my 6 year old said, we could have talked. ah my baby, he is so cute and smart, lol

Edited on Sun May-09-04 12:23 PM by For PaisAn
He prefaced the Rush audio with a comment along the lines of "To be fair we want to present the "other side"...then he played Rush's comments. Sheer genius. They would have to denounce Rush in order to counter Moyers move. Checkmate. He didn't have to say a negative word about Rush and his ilk, he let it speak for itself.

P.S. For anyone who missed this episode of NOW, they're replaying it tonight on PBS at 11:00 pm EST.
