Is there an argument to separate the sexes in the military....

One of our Vietnam vets made a comment the other day that men do things in front of women, for ego sakes, that they would not normally do and suggested that perhaps they should not be serving together? Is there any merit to that suggestion? Looking at this as realistically as we possibly can, is this a good or bad idea?

1. Uh, I was always taught that men are more civilized around

women, but I know that is shit too. The fact is we are the same species and our biology has little to do with our psychology. Guess again.

Are you going to segregate the sexes in corrections, law enforcement, fire fighting, medicine etc? There are many places where "showing off" could be detrimental.

answer your question! Those who want to go who are female...fine for them, but NO WAY I would go into this...I would be outta here!

I don't have any interest in getting out there with "the guys."

But, then, as I said there are those who are different. But, why should I be forced to be with "the guys" serving when I don't want to be?

It's not an idea that to me is workable, but we have some female DU'ers who have been successful in this. I don't know if maybe Gay females have a better way of dealing than us hetero's ...but I'm kind of against Male and Female Integrated Military. :shrug:
