Why on earth would any Rethug want Rummy to survive as SoD?
Edited on Fri May-07-04 09:25 PM by stopbush
All I'm hearing on the talk shows is that Rs are worried that Rummy "won't survive."

Why would they want such an incompetent, stupid, ghoulish, out-of-touch POS to survive? Even on a political level, he's a huge albatross around the Thief-in-Chief's neck! Maybe they fear the typical book deal that will follow any resignation.

Honestly, is the *entire* R philosophy based upon nothing but circling the wagons, screaming partisanship and declaring victory through unity?
Unbelievable.

1. Three reasons:
Edited on Fri May-07-04 09:22 PM by TroubleMan
1. His replacement might be worse (think Wolfowitz, Perle, Libby)

2. He could pull and "Ollie North" and take all the blame. bush could then do a Pontius Pilate and wash his hands of the whole thing ("It's Herod's fault" - "It's Rummy's fault")

3. Any bad stuff they do later could be blamed on him (saying it was a continuation of his policies, and they just found out).

(on edit)

I misunderstood your point.....You meant why don't the repugs want him to resign? Hmmmm... I guess arrogance and not wanting to say they did anything wrong.

3. I think it's because he is too close to the president
For the SoD to resign shows *massive* failure of the administration. His position is much too close to the Chimp's. The whole team would be sullied, no matter how much they try to shield Chimpy. That's just my guess.

4. the chimp is already close to a complete breakdown...if his good

friend rummy goes down...the chimp may turn into a blithering idiot on National TV....nixon was openly slurring on TV at the end...although we all know that bush* is on drugs/alcohol...his handlers have tried real hard to orchestrated his "public" appearances to lend some semblance of sanity to bush*....

it could get much worse for bush* now...especially if the powers-that-run-America decide that bush* won't be able to hold the pResidency in November elections....

stayed tuned...upcoming...the nixon-shuffle: VP resigns, new one APPOINTED, pResident removed, appointed VP rising to pResident and APPOINTS new VP....then the new team runs for re-selection...

right after nixon resigned in disgrace, WE THE PEOPLE suffered through a WH where BOTH the pResident and VP were openly SELECTED, not elected....the whole government was dangling by a thread.....

5. R`s Philosophy: $87bil here $25bil there for corporate sponsors.
Keep we the people scared with the terrorist bogeyman. They sure as hell don`t want to properly investigate 9-11. To find out every single detail about said bogeyman. Democrats may be wussies but they are not use to being on the attack all the time. They have become use to being attacked. We need to insist our Democratic leaders attack these coporate welfare junkies were they live. And stop profiting off the blood of our military personel. And the Iraqi civilians of which neither them or Rumsfields buddy Saddam have ever attacked our country. Our military is to defend our country. Not provided corporate sponsored cannon fodder for elites like the squatter in Al Gores White House.
